The National Final Round of the Asian Mathematics Competition - AIMO 2025 officially took place this morning (July 6), at the University of Science and Technology ( Hanoi ).

Hundreds of parents and students from provinces and cities across the country arrived early to attend the opening ceremony and complete exam registration procedures.

Head of the organizing committee Le Xuan Son also emphasized that AIMO 2025 is the first time the organizing committee has applied artificial intelligence (AI) to the organization, reception and grading of exams faster and more accurately.

"By applying the latest science and technology to life, I hope you will absorb that spirit, update, learn, and strive to renew yourself," he emphasized.

After that, the students officially enter the Olympic-style exam, doing the test on paper for 120 minutes with the English exam structure consisting of 3 parts (A, B, C), requiring logical thinking, critical thinking, analysis and problem solving.

According to information from the Organizing Committee, to select more than 600 contestants for the final round, previously, in the preliminary round of the contest, there were 2,400 students from all over the country participating.

After the morning competition, the closing ceremony and award ceremony will take place at 1:30 pm this afternoon at Hall C2, Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

The Asian Mathematical Olympiad is an annual competition organized since 2012 by the International AIMO Executive Committee - Asian Mathematical Olympiad Association. The competition has attracted thousands of participants from many different countries such as: Brazil, Bulgaria, China, India, Thailand, Malaysia...

Vietnam participated in the AIMO competition since 2019 and quickly made its mark with more than 200 international medals, affirming the students' capacity as well as the right orientation of Vietnamese general education in developing students' thinking and foreign languages.

Following the success of previous competitions, in 2025, Tien Phong Newspaper - Hanoi University of Science and Technology will jointly organize the Asian Mathematics Competition - AIMO 2025 and implement it by Tien Phong Joint Stock Company for candidates from grades 2 to 12 nationally to compete in English Mathematics.

From the results of the National Final Round, the Organizing Committee will select the 5 best candidates in each grade to represent Vietnam in the international final round in Japan in early August.
