This year, in addition to the new resident doctors attracting attention, social networks spread information that for the first time in 3 years of organizing Match Day, the Department of Anatomy had a resident doctor selected.

Speaking with VTC News, Associate Professor Dr. Ngo Xuan Khoa, Head of the Department of Anatomy, Hanoi Medical University, confirmed that this is not accurate information.

New resident physician Nguyen Dinh Tien Trung chose the specialty of Anatomy and received great response in the hall.

"Resident doctor Nguyen Dinh Tien Trung is indeed the first person this year to choose the Anatomy major. However, social media has spread the information that in the past 3 years only one person has chosen the major, making Mr. Khoa wait for such a long time is not right," Associate Professor, Dr. Ngo Xuan Khoa shared.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Ngo Xuan Khoa, this year the Department of Anatomy has two quotas, one at Hanoi Medical University and one for the branch in Thanh Hoa and has selected both. Previously in 2024, the department selected one resident doctor. In 2023, five people were selected.

"Anatomy is a field of research and teaching about the normal structure of the human body. Anatomy has three goals: specialized medical examination and treatment, scientific research and teaching, and has nothing to do with guarding the morgue. Sharing on the internet is just for fun," said Associate Professor, Dr. Ngo Xuan Khoa.

Mr. Khoa also emphasized that residency training is a special program, aiming to nurture talent for the medical industry.

"The day I took the 17th residency exam, the quota was 20 people, very fierce. At that time, each major only accepted 1-2 people and candidates were not selected, the school assigned. However, everyone tried hard, devoted themselves to the industry and now all have become leading teachers in the field. Now the quota has increased to more than 400, reflecting the greater social demand," Mr. Khoa shared.

The Head of the Department of Anatomy, Hanoi Medical University, quoted Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Tu, the school's Principal, as saying that no resident doctor has an idle time. To become a good doctor or a good specialist, one must work hard, struggle, dedicate oneself and persevere equally.

"Every Match Day season, teachers of all subjects are always present in the hall, bringing fresh flowers to welcome their students.
