Gia Lai College was established in October 1976. After nearly 50 years of construction and development, the collective leadership, staff and workers of the School have always strived to overcome all difficulties and challenges to gradually build the school stronger and stronger.
Currently, Gia Lai College is one of the leading vocational training institutions in the North Central Highlands, with a team of qualified lecturers and teachers, and an increasingly expanding training scale. Facilities and teaching equipment are constantly invested and upgraded, meeting training requirements in the new situation.
The school currently has a total of 205 staff and employees. It is expected that in the coming time, the school will reorganize and rearrange the organizational structure of its affiliated units, including 07 departments, 09 faculties and 03 centers, in accordance with practical operations and development orientation.
As a key vocational training institution of the province, Gia Lai College plays an important role in providing quality human resources for economic sectors, contributing effectively to the socio-economic development of the locality. The school is training technical human resources directly serving production and services at the following levels: College, Intermediate, Elementary and regular vocational training.
Regarding training quality, the percentage of full-time students in the whole school achieving good, excellent and excellent grades is 80.5%. The graduation rate is 96.6%, of which 92.1% achieve good grades or higher. The school maintains the habit of regular class observation, with 95% of lectures meeting requirements. The emulation movement "Teaching well - Learning well" is strongly promoted, bringing many positive results.

In the period of 2022-2025, Gia Lai College has implemented many activities to promote cooperative relationships with the business community and improve the quality of internships for students. As of May 2025, the School has established and maintained cooperative relationships with about 100 enterprises, agencies and units in Gia Lai province and a number of enterprises nationwide. These partners operate in the main fields such as: Garment, agricultural and forestry processing; Mechanics, auto repair; Construction; Trade, services; Tourism , restaurants, hotels; Information technology....
In the period 2025-2030, the school aims to expand training occupations and develop key occupations according to the practical needs of the region. At the same time, it will strengthen the survey of the labor market in the Central Highlands and Central Coast regions, especially after the merger and re-identification of priority training occupations. Along with that, the school will focus on developing potential engineering, technology and service industries, in line with the general development trend of the region.
At the meeting, the school leaders proposed that the province pay attention to and increase the investment level from the provincial budget for the school, in which priority is given to items such as: Renovation and upgrading of infrastructure, practice workshops, laboratories for vocational training; investment in vocational training equipment suitable to the actual situation. The school also proposed financial support to implement digital transformation in management, training and enrollment. In addition, the school proposed that the Provincial People's Committee consider adjusting the living allowance for ethnic minority students from 140,000 VND/month to a level more suitable to reality. This is to create conditions for learners to feel secure in their studies, reduce the rate of dropping out of school, and at the same time contribute to improving the quality of vocational training and developing human resources for the province in the period 2025-2030.
In addition, the school also proposed that the Provincial People's Committee issue a special support policy in recruitment and treatment for the team of doctors participating in teaching at vocational training institutions. At the same time, it requested the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the Department of Construction to coordinate with relevant agencies to review and supplement land funds to expand the school's main campus, serving the construction of dormitories, specialized workshops and sports areas for students.

With the difficulties and problems raised by the school at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Lam Hai Giang and representatives of the leaders of relevant departments, branches and units of the province discussed, clarified each content and proposed specific solutions to support Gia Lai College to effectively implement tasks in the coming time.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Lam Hai Giang acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of Gia Lai College in organizing multidisciplinary training, expanding scale and strengthening links with businesses; at the same time, he also shared the difficulties and obstacles that the school is facing.
Regarding the upcoming tasks, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the school to urgently develop a comprehensive development project, as a basis for consolidating and perfecting the organizational structure, arranging the staff, teachers and financial management. This will help improve the quality and efficiency of the school's operations, while solving the difficulties in facilities, equipment and current mechanisms and policies.
Comrade Lam Hai Giang emphasized that the school has promoted its operational efficiency in the past time and needs to continue to maintain and comprehensively develop the licensed professions. Along with that, it is necessary to review the codes of the professions that are being trained well, select key professions for focused and key investment, thereby gradually affirming its position and building its own brand for the school. He also suggested that the school needs to have the aspiration to rise, aiming at the goal of not only providing human resources for Gia Lai province but also for the entire Central Highlands region.
In addition to improving the quality of training in existing strong fields, the school needs to proactively research and develop plans to expand new training fields, ensuring that they are suitable for development needs in the next 5 years.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also noted that in the coming period, the school needs to innovate its management and administration methods in a modern direction, approaching the enterprise management model. In particular, it is necessary to assign targets, evaluate efficiency and strengthen supervision. At the same time, it is necessary to proactively grasp market information, develop cooperation plans with enterprises to train in line with labor market needs, promote the connection between labor supply and demand, and aim to train close to the actual needs of the market.
On this occasion, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested relevant departments and branches to continue to closely coordinate with Gia Lai College to promptly remove obstacles and create favorable conditions for the school. Thereby contributing to improving the quality of vocational education, helping the school develop sustainably and achieve more success in the future./.
