5 admission methods, 42 admission combinations
On May 7, the University of Foreign Languages (ULIS) - Vietnam National University, Hanoi announced 5 methods of regular university admission in 2025.
In which, with method 1 - direct admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training , the school considers candidates who won first, second, and third prizes in the national excellent student selection exam in foreign languages to be directly admitted to majors suitable for the exam subjects.
Method 2 - considering high school graduation exam results, the school uses 42 admission combinations (last year with this method the school used 11 admission combinations).
With the admission score scale, the school multiplies the coefficient of 2 foreign language subjects, then converts it to a 30-point scale and adds priority points according to regulations.
Method 3 - considering foreign language certificates combined with high school graduation exam results in 2025, candidates will use foreign language certificates converted to a 10-point scale combined with the remaining 2 subjects in the school's admission combination.
Similarly, the conversion score of foreign language certificates is calculated with a coefficient of 2, then converted to a 30-point scale and priority points are added according to regulations.
The University of Foreign Languages converts foreign language certificates into a 10-point scale used in university admissions as follows:
Method 4 - considering the results of the competency assessment test organized by Hanoi National University, the school requires candidates to use the test results with an English component score of at least 30/50 points.
Method 5 - consider certificates combined with academic records for high school students of Hanoi National University or students of specialized programs/specialized classes of specialized high schools at provincial and centrally-run city levels whose academic results for all 3 years of high school are assessed as good (academic performance ranked excellent or higher).
Candidates use the certificate converted to a 10-point scale, calculate a coefficient of 2, combine it with the results of 6 high school semesters of the remaining 2 subjects in the admission combination, then convert it to a 30-point scale and add priority points according to regulations.
Admission score = [(Subject 1 score + Subject 2 score + (Certificate conversion score to 10 x 2 scale))/4 x 3] + bonus points + priority points (if any).
