Universities attract scientific talent with many attractive incentives

The USTH-TRP2030 program is implemented by USTH in the spirit of Resolution 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo , which emphasizes the task of issuing a specific mechanism to attract overseas Vietnamese and highly qualified international experts to Vietnam to work, live and contribute. Following this orientation, Resolution 193/2025/QH15 dated February 19, 2025 of the National Assembly has paved the way for educational and research institutions to pilot specific models in attracting and using high-quality human resources.

The USTH-TRP2030 program aims to select 25 outstanding lecturers and researchers in the period 2025 - 2030, working in the fields of natural sciences and technology, with priority given to areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Information Security, Data Science, Mechatronic Engineering, Microchip - Semiconductor Technology, Aeronautical Engineering and Automotive Engineering.

Selection criteria emphasize research capacity, proposed research program, international publication record, ability to mobilize research funding resources, ability to develop international cooperation and long-term commitment to USTH. Factors such as graduation from the world's leading universities, teaching experience and supervision of graduate students are also advantages in the selection process.

Successful candidates will enjoy competitive remuneration. USTH commits to providing a research support package of 1.5 to 3 billion VND in the first three years, sponsoring two full-time doctoral scholarships or cotutelle scholarships with international partners for talented lecturers and researchers to build research groups.

Talented lecturers and researchers are given priority by the school to introduce research funding sources from the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, to use equipment, to exploit existing laboratories at USTH and to propose investment in new equipment for research. Talented lecturers and researchers will receive competitive income depending on their capacity and contribution to research and teaching.

The recruitment process is carried out by a Recruitment Council consisting of prestigious scientists inside and outside the university, especially Vietnamese scientists living and working abroad. The 2025-2026 Recruitment Council has the participation of Prof. Phan Duong Hieu (Institut Polytechnique de Paris, France) and Prof. Tran The Truyen (Deakin University, Australia). Candidate profiles will be evaluated objectively and transparently, with emphasis on academic quality, potential and suitability for the school environment.
