Son La Youth pioneers in volunteering - creativity - development

The Vietnam Youth Union (VYU) in the province has 75 commune and ward level associations, 5 affiliated units with more than 76,000 members. In recent years, the Association has focused on strengthening the organization and implementing many good models, practical movements, expanding the solidarity front, gathering and encouraging young people to compete in studying, starting a business, contributing to building and defending the Fatherland.

The Youth Union - Student Association of Tay Bac University inaugurated the project "Village Light" in Muong Sai commune.

Mr. Lo Manh Cuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Union of the province, said: The Union has focused on effectively implementing major movements and programs, such as: "Son La Youth are patriotic and courageous"; "Living beautifully, living usefully"; "Son La Youth are creative and start-up"; "Volunteering for the community"; "Healthy physically, strong skills, proactively integrating internationally" and the programs "Accompanying young people to establish themselves and their careers"; "Building a strong Vietnam Youth Union"... In many forms, with rich and diverse content, suitable for each facility.

Political education among members has always been focused on. Since the beginning of the year, the whole province has organized 110 political activities, with the theme "Remembering Uncle Ho makes our hearts brighter" and "Aspiration to contribute, the reason for youth to live". Organized for over 14,000 young people to visit historical sites, red addresses, museums; effectively maintained the digital map of 27 red addresses and 18 digital models of historical documents and artifacts; organized 5 festivals to promote revolutionary songs. There are 1,565 good news and beautiful stories promoted on social networking sites.

The Vietnam Youth Union of the province has also effectively implemented the programs "Beautiful schools for children", "Boarding houses for children", "Toilets for children", "Happy houses for children", "Happy bridges", "Playgrounds for children", giving scholarships, learning equipment, personal items... to join hands to improve facilities, learning and living conditions for ethnic minority students, students in remote areas, and difficult areas. From 2024 to now, 5 schools have been built, 44 new charity houses have been built, 5 bridges have been built, 3km of roads have been concreted, 28 toilets have been built for children... The Union has presented 4 happy houses; 300 warm clothes; 38 scholarships; 300 national flags; 300 cartons of milk; 30 flocks of "Red Scarf" chickens; more than 700 gifts; examined and distributed medicine to more than 450 people; Visit and give gifts to people in flood-hit areas of Huoi Mot and Chieng So. Maintain regular activities of 128 volunteer teams participating in environmental protection, landscape, and maintaining urban order with the participation of 1,287 volunteers.

Doctor Le Trung Hieu, Provincial General Hospital, Chairman of the Provincial Young Physicians Club, said: The club has 30 members who are young doctors and nurses working in medical facilities, actively participating in volunteer activities for the community. Since the beginning of the year, the club has coordinated with the Provincial Vietnam Youth Union and the Provincial Red Cross to examine and provide free medicine to over 2,000 policy beneficiaries, the elderly and households with especially difficult circumstances in the whole province.

Accompanying and helping young people start up, establish themselves and establish their careers, in the past 9 months, the provincial union at all levels has supported the realization of 26 startup ideas; organized 2 startup forums for more than 2,100 young people. Provided career counseling and guidance to more than 13,200 youth union members; introduced jobs to more than 8,000 young people; coordinated vocational training for 1,840 union members. Currently, the whole province has 28,973 union member and youth households supported, with preferential loans from credit banks in the area, with a total outstanding debt of more than 1,700 billion VND.

The member organizations of the Vietnam Youth Union of the province continue to develop and improve the quality of their activities, with appropriate forms and methods of gathering, such as the Vietnam Student Association of the province continues to develop strongly in terms of organization and activities, actively caring for and supporting students. The Provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association focuses on linking entrepreneurial activities with movement building to ensure practicality and effectiveness for the requirements of business development and local economic and social development.

With the motto "Son La Youth Pioneer - Volunteer - Creative - Development", the Vietnam Youth Federation of the province continues to innovate content and methods, improve the quality of activities, and nurture a generation of Son La youth with revolutionary ideals and patriotism. Create an environment and conditions for youth to practice and promote their strengths, contributing with the Party, government and people to build Son La to develop green, fast and sustainably.
