Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and CC1 open in-depth course on high-speed railway

On August 29, Construction Corporation No. 1 - JSC (CC1) coordinated with Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology - Vietnam National University to organize the opening ceremony of the specialized training program on high-speed railways and urban railways.

Training high-quality human resources for high-speed railway

The 3-month program, with a budget of 1 billion VND, is part of a comprehensive cooperation framework between CC1 and the University of Technology worth 1 million USD in 5 years on human resource training, scientific research, technology transfer in the field of construction and student support.

The program is designed to enhance the capacity of CC1's engineers and technical staff by updating the most advanced and specialized knowledge in the field of high-speed railways and urban railways.

The program has the participation of teaching and consulting from a team of prestigious domestic and international experts - those who directly manage and implement many large-scale infrastructure and railway projects.

"Training and developing high-quality human resources for high-speed railway and urban railway systems is a new field in Vietnam. This is a key task for CC1 to master the technology.

We are determined to develop a team of specialized human resources to prepare thoroughly and synchronously, ready to seize opportunities in the coming time," Mr. Phan Huu Duy Quoc - Chairman of the Board of Directors of CC1 - shared.

According to Prof. Dr. Mai Thanh Phong - Principal of the University of Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University), over the years the school and CC1 have established a close cooperative relationship, working together in many aspects from training, research to student support.

With strong potential, experience in constructing key infrastructure projects and a high-quality workforce, CC1 will work with the University of Technology to implement more specialized, sustainable training programs that have widespread influence and contribute to forming a generation of high-quality engineers for the country.

Open job opportunities for tens of thousands of people

After the merger period, Ho Chi Minh City's urban railway network has increased to more than 1,012km. Currently, Ho Chi Minh City is implementing Resolution 188, focusing on public investment capital to simultaneously deploy 7 metro lines with a total length of 355km, to be completed in 2035. Particularly, metro line 2 (Ben Thanh - Tham Luong) will strive to start construction in 2025.

Some routes connecting to the old Binh Duong area are also in need of immediate investment, such as metro line 1 (Binh Duong New City - Suoi Tien) and metro line 2 (Thu Dau Mot - Hiep Binh Phuoc)...

The two railway lines Thu Thiem - Long Thanh and the connecting line from the center to Can Gio are also implementing investment procedures.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction, to meet the requirements in the coming time, it is necessary to prioritize the establishment and development of specialized training facilities on urban railways, creating a foundation for the development of high-quality human resources - Table preparation: DUC PHU

The number of railway and urban railway projects being implemented in Ho Chi Minh City is very large. Therefore, according to the forecast of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction, the demand for human resources participating in the design, construction and operation of urban railways is very large, opening up job opportunities for tens of thousands of people (see table) .

Currently, many domestic enterprises and corporations have also submitted proposals and participated in research and investment in urban railway lines in Ho Chi Minh City. At the same time, enterprises are also racing to train and recruit human resources in this field.
