Dak Lak Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Primary School strictly instructs students and parents not to give gifts to teachers and school leaders on Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20.
On November 10, Ms. H Tú Byă, Principal of Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Primary School, Ea Huar Commune, Buon Don District, said that this is an extremely difficult area so the school does not want parents and students to worry about giving gifts. Previously, according to her, many students had to work to have money to buy gifts for their teachers.
In addition, she believes that not giving gifts to teachers will create fair treatment for all students, avoiding the situation where those who do not have the conditions to visit their teachers are not cared for as much as other students. The school is also concerned that students will encounter risks on the way to visit their teachers on November 20.
"Good, polite, and studious children are the most meaningful gift of gratitude for teachers," said Ms. H Tu.
Ea Huar Commune is located about 10 km from the center of Buon Don border district. Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Primary School currently has 31 staff and teachers; 16 classes with more than 400 students, of which 216 are ethnic minorities.

Vietnamese Teachers' Day was first celebrated on November 20, 1982, as an occasion for society to show gratitude to teachers and the education sector.
Recently, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City and Tay Ninh announced that they will not receive guests, gifts or flower baskets from departments and agencies to implement the policy of saving and fighting waste.
