- In just a few days, millions of students across the country will enter the 2025-2026 school year. At this time, schools in Lang Son province are actively completing all preparations for the new school year, ready to welcome students back to school.
According to data from the Department of Education and Training (DET), the province currently has 648 units and schools, including preschool, general education and vocational education, with more than 200,000 students. After implementing the two-level local government model, schools quickly stabilized their apparatus, completed the initial enrollment work, the work of checking and re-evaluating the training results and learning results of subjects during the summer vacation; accepted and handed over the quality of students according to the plan; organized the arrangement of subject combinations at the high school level according to wishes, ensuring that they are suitable for the students' abilities and the actual conditions of the facilities and staff of the unit.
At the same time, schools have reviewed staff conditions and advised on flexible implementation, arrangement and placement of teachers to ensure sufficient quantity and consistent structure; inspected and reviewed the current status of facilities to propose plans to upgrade, renovate or invest in new classroom systems and auxiliary works; reviewed and upgraded information technology systems in schools; conducted general cleaning of classrooms, school grounds, boarding and semi-boarding areas before the opening day; maintained hygiene in the kitchen, canteen, accommodation and toilets. Along with that, ensuring sufficient quantity, quality and on schedule in meeting the textbook needs of teachers, parents and students entering the 2025-2026 school year;
According to Van An Primary School (Chien Thang Commune), the renovation of facilities was carried out immediately after the end of the old school year and preparations for the new school year were made at this time. Ms. Bui Thi Thanh Tam, Vice Principal of the school, said: The school has repainted 6 classrooms, replaced 30 sets of tables and chairs, and added hundreds of books to the library. The entire electrical, water, and fire protection systems have also been inspected and maintained to ensure absolute safety. The school grounds have also been cleaned and more trees planted, creating a clean, friendly landscape, ready to serve the teaching and learning of staff, teachers, and students in the coming school year.
For special schools such as Nam La Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, Hoi Hoan Commune (a commune in Region 3 of the province), preparation work also includes ensuring accommodation and living conditions for students. Therefore, the school pays special attention to the quality of boarding meals, strictly adhering to food hygiene and safety regulations. In addition, the boarding area and the lunch break area are also cleaned, arranged cleanly and neatly, providing a safe and comfortable space for the students.
This year, Nhuong Ban Primary and Secondary School, Thong Nhat Commune has 13 classes with a total of 256 students, 34 staff and teachers, of which 41 are first graders. Identifying the beginning of the year as the key time to create momentum for the whole school year, the school has prepared all teaching and learning conditions, especially the work of welcoming first graders is carefully organized by the school. Mr. Hoang Thanh Tung, Principal of the school said: We have developed a plan and organized two "zero-study weeks" for first graders starting from August 18, focusing on getting acquainted with the learning environment and basic skills, helping them to be more confident when entering the main curriculum. Along with that, we have developed a plan to teach Vietnamese to them for two weeks with 60 lessons.
Recently, the People's Committees of communes and wards have inspected the preparations for the new school year at schools to promptly resolve difficulties that schools are facing, demonstrating the effective state management role of local authorities, ensuring that schools are ready to enter the new school year with the best spirit.
Ms. Hoang Thi Na, Deputy Head of the Department of Culture and Society of Loc Binh commune, said: The People's Committee of the commune has paid attention to investing in and repairing facilities and teaching and learning equipment at schools to ensure learning conditions for students. Environmental sanitation and schoolyard beautification have also been actively implemented by schools, creating a green - clean - beautiful and safe landscape. Along with that, schools have completed their apparatus, assigned tasks to teachers, developed appropriate educational plans, cared for and supported students in difficult circumstances, students with disabilities, leaving no one behind. It can be affirmed that, up to this point, schools in Loc Binh commune have basically prepared for the new school year.
In order to achieve many important results in the 2025-2026 school year, the Department of Education and Training has recently issued documents guiding schools to perform professional tasks according to their levels, guiding preparations for the new school year and organizing the Opening Ceremony; conducting inspections of preparations for the 2025-2026 school year. At the same time, directing units and schools to guide professional groups and teachers to proactively research, review, and adjust the content of textbooks and local educational materials to suit actual conditions, especially in the context of administrative boundary rearrangement.
Ms. Phan My Hanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, said: The Department of Education and Training has proactively coordinated with local authorities to review, invest in and upgrade facilities such as classroom systems, subject classrooms, sanitation facilities and additional teaching equipment... Along with that, the education sector has organized a summary of the 2024-2025 school year, deployed tasks for the 2025-2026 school year and organized training courses to improve professional qualifications for staff and teachers. Up to now, 100% of schools in the province have basically completed preparations and are ready to welcome students back to school and start the new school year.
With careful and synchronous preparation and the cooperation of local authorities, sectors, organizations and the efforts of staff and teachers, schools are ready to enter the new school year and are determined to successfully carry out the tasks of the 2025-2026 school year, contributing to improving the quality of comprehensive education in the province.
