The third season of Trang Nguyen Nhi - a TV show for elementary school students across the country has officially returned with completely changed rules.

Journalist Hai Dang (center) revealed that this year's program has many changes, focusing more on folk elements.

If in the previous two seasons, each qualifying round episode was the playground of an elementary school. In the 2023 version, the exam school of Little Champion becomes a meeting place for close friends from different schools and localities.

According to the organizing committee representative, after the online selection round and direct interview, 18 teams were selected. Each team consists of 6 members divided equally into 3 grades, including two close friends in grade 2, two close friends in grade 3 and two close friends in grade 4.

This year's playground will emphasize the individuality and experience of the candidates.

According to the new rules, the Hương and Hội exams are both individual to determine the score for each candidate. In the Hương exam, candidates quickly answer questions demonstrating their general understanding of history and traditional culture, including quizzes about folk games.

In the competition round, two teams sent members to compete against each other, with content about general knowledge in many areas of modern life.

In particular, the questions will not come much from textbooks, but mainly through children's experiences: reading books, watching TV, going on picnics...

For the Royal Examination round, the selection of candidates is based on the total score of each team. The team with the higher total score gets to choose the 2 candidates with the highest individual scores, the remaining team gets to choose only 1.

This round will especially emphasize emotional intelligence. 3 contestants watch a video together, receive test questions from a special judge, write emotional essays as requested in the studio, then each contestant will present their essay.

Journalist Hai Dang emphasized that in previous years the program chose games that were familiar to children at school. This year, the organizers only focused on folk games integrated into the questions.

“The program cleverly brings children closer to modern knowledge without straying from the educational spirit of their ancestors. And elements such as ancient examination schools, folk games or questions related to cultural and historical values... always help children think about, curiously learn, thereby gradually absorbing the precious values ​​of their country,” emphasized journalist Hai Dang.

The show airs at 1pm every Saturday on VTV3, starting from July 8. Hau Hoang - a famous YouTuber and dancer recently will take on the role of hosting the show.
