This morning, 4,430 candidates took the entrance exam for grade 10 at Nguyen Tat Thanh High School (under Hanoi National University of Education). This is the last “hot” school, managed by the university sector, to organize the entrance exam for grade 10 in 2025. With an enrollment target of 440 students, this year’s competition ratio is 1/10.
From early morning, the Xuan Thuy, Cau Giay area, in front of the gate of Hanoi National University of Education, was partially congested. The number of candidates and their parents pouring into the school was increasing. Some candidates quickly nibbled on bread and sticky rice before entering the exam room.
Signs and security teams and student volunteers were mobilized to guide parents and students to exam locations.

According to the Admissions Council, two days ago, the school posted on the website of Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary and High School, and sent an email to each candidate with instructions on how to take the 10th grade entrance exam, clearly stating information about registration number, exam room, exam location and other information related to the exam.
"The exam organization is ready. This is the school's last high school exam, so the preparation is going quite smoothly," said a school representative.
In this morning's exam, there are 152 rooms, arranged at 5 locations. In the morning, candidates will take the literature exam (120 minutes), in the afternoon, they will take the math exam (90 minutes), and English exam (60 minutes).
Literature is 100% essay, including 2 parts: reading comprehension and writing. Math and English are a combination of multiple choice and essay.
The exam questions are mainly from the 9th grade program of the 2018 GeneralEducation program.
Candidates must ensure that they have achieved a good level of academic achievement and a good level of training in all 4 years of junior high school; and achieve an average score of 6.5 or higher in the three subjects of literature, math, and English for the entire 9th grade year.

In the 2025-2026 school year, the school will recruit students using only one method, which is direct entrance exams in 3 subjects: literature, math, and English.
This is a new point compared to previous school years (there are 3 forms: direct admission, entrance exam and admission based on 10th grade entrance exam scores organized by Hanoi Department of Education and Training). The test scores of each subject are calculated on a 10-point scale.
The entrance exam scores are used to consider candidates for admission to the school. Candidates must have full scores on all three exams and not violate the regulations of the examination board.
Entrance exam score = literature score + math score + English score
The school will announce the benchmark scores on June 26.
Admitted students enroll on June 30 (the previous schedule announced enrollment on June 27).
Previously, on June 4, nearly 5,721 candidates took the entrance exam to grade 10 at Hanoi National University of Education High School. Many students came from the provinces of Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, Ha Tinh , etc., to take the exam at this school.
With a target of 420 while 5,721 candidates registered for the exam, the competition ratio for grade 10 of Hanoi National University of Education's specialized high school this year is 1/14. The highest competition ratio is 1/23 for the English specialized class.
