Funeral and burial of 172 remains of volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Cambodia

On July 25, Tay Ninh province held a memorial service and burial ceremony for 172 remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Cambodia and were brought back to Vietnam in the second batch, phase 24 (dry season 2024-2025), at Hill 82 Martyrs Cemetery.

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense ; comrade Nguyen Van Quyet, Secretary of Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee and comrade Nguyen Van Ut, Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee; leaders of departments, branches, communes, wards; armed forces units and people in the province.

Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Quyet and Provincial People's Committee Chairman Nguyen Van Ut performed the ceremony of moving the martyrs' remains to the grave for burial.

In a solemn atmosphere, delegates offered flowers and incense, respectfully bowed to commemorate the great contributions of the Heroes and Martyrs who sacrificed their blood and bones for the independence and freedom of the nation.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Ut brought the martyr's grave to its resting place.

At the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee Doan Trung Kien, on behalf of the Party Committee, government, armed forces and people of Tay Ninh province, expressed his respect and infinite gratitude for the great sacrifices of the Heroes - Martyrs, the outstanding sons of the nation who fell for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the cause of national liberation, national reunification and noble international obligations.

At the same time, Vice Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee Doan Trung Kien emphasized that over the past years, under the close direction of the National Steering Committee 515, the effective coordination between the Central agencies, the government and the armed forces of Tay Ninh province with the agencies, the government and the people of the Kingdom of Cambodia, through 24 stages, the officers and soldiers of the 3 Teams K70, K71 and K73 were not afraid of hardships, overcame all difficulties, faced the dangers of remaining bombs and mines to search for their comrades.

With determination and the highest sense of responsibility, the comrades searched for and collected 8,627 martyrs' remains. In phase 24 alone (dry season 2024 - 2025), Teams K70, K71 and K73 searched for and collected 474 unidentified martyrs' remains. Previously, the teams held a memorial service and buried 302 martyrs' remains.
