Searching for truck that recklessly overtook and hit motorbike, injuring 3 people

On the evening of October 8, the Investigation Police Agency of Bao Loc City said it was verifying and searching for a truck that recklessly overtook and crossed lanes, hitting a motorbike traveling in the same direction, injuring 3 people, but the driver fled the scene.

According to initial information, the traffic accident occurred at 2:52 p.m. on November 8 on National Highway 20. At that time, the truck (license plate and driver's identity unknown) was traveling on National Highway 20 from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Lat. When reaching Thanh Xa intersection (Loc Nga commune, Bao Loc city), the driver turned to the right and entered the motorbike lane to overtake another truck traveling in the same direction ahead.

The truck recklessly overtook and hit a motorbike driven by Mr. Tran Thanh Hai (60 years old) carrying 2 people, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Bich (59 years old, Mr. Hai's wife) and her nephew named Khoi (5 years old), both residing in Loc An commune (Bao Lam district, Lam Dong ) who were traveling in the same direction ahead. The accident caused the motorbike driven by Mr. Hai to fly to the curb and hit a power pole.

Security camera recorded the accident that happened at 2:52 p.m. on November 8.

As a result, the accident injured 3 people on the motorbike. Among them, Ms. Bich was seriously injured and was taken to Lam Dong II Hospital for emergency treatment by local people, then transferred to Cho Ray Hospital (HCMC).

It is worth mentioning that after causing the accident, the truck driver stepped on the gas and fled the scene. Bao Loc City Police quickly coordinated with the Traffic Police of Madaguoi Station and Di Linh Station (under the Traffic Police Department of Lam Dong Province Police) to verify and search for the driver and the truck that caused the accident. That same evening, the authorities said that they initially determined that the truck owner lived in Di Linh District (Lam Dong), and the driver who caused the accident and then drove away lived in Bao Loc City.
