“By integrating FortiAI into the Fortinet Security Fabric platform, including the new agentic AI capabilities, we are helping customers reduce their security and network analytics workloads while improving the efficiency, speed, and accuracy of security and network operations,” said Michael Xie, Founder, President, and CTO at Fortinet. “Fortinet also increases coverage across the entire Fabric ecosystem, allowing customers to monitor and control the use of GenAI-powered services happening within their organization.”

FortiAI now extends across Fortinet's entire suite of AI-integrated applications and solutions, supporting network and security operations, protecting environments, and securing AI models and large language models (LLMs).

Integrated into the Fortinet Security Fabric, FortiAI delivers cutting-edge intelligence and automation capabilities that help prevent advanced threats, streamline operations, and enable secure AI adoption.

FortiAI-Protect enhances security with AI-powered threat detection.

The expansion of FortiAI creates positive changes. Specifically, FortiAI-Assist combines GenAI, agentic AI, and AIOps to simplify and transform security and network operations through automation and intelligent analytics.

Automated network management initiated through the GenAI assistant enables network configuration creation and security policy updates, validation and correction of existing configurations, troubleshooting and network remediation without human intervention.

Automated network optimization and troubleshooting using GenAI and AIOps enhances network operations for wired, wireless, and SD-WAN networks, proactively identifying and providing remediation before users are impacted.

Automated alert classification prioritizes notifications based on risk level, context, and historical patterns, preventing duplicate alerts and flagging only high-risk threats in the system or directly notifying threat analysts, depending on the organization's settings.

Adaptive threat hunting scans logs, network traffic, and user behavior for threats without waiting for human input.

Root cause tracking uses AI-powered reasoning to determine the source, method, and impact of an attack.

Threat intelligence enrichment enhances security intelligence by correlating attack patterns and analyzing adversary tactics, thereby improving proactive defense capabilities.

FortiAI-Protect enhances security with AI-powered threat detection, enabling the identification of advanced and unknown threats. FortiAI-Protect also provides contextual risk assessments that enhance security and enforce access controls for third-party GenAI applications. These enhancements add value to FortiGuard's AI Application Security Service, which is available to both new and existing customers. Specifically:

Detect AI application usage for over 6,500 AI URLs, including GenAI applications. Security teams also get additional reference context similar to use cases, models used for training, and location of data transferred.

Controlling access and content to GenAI with zero-trust principles allows security teams to block the use of hidden AI or high-risk AI applications. Visibility into the list of AI applications and additional context, such as geolocation and training models, also allows administrators to define organization-wide AI usage policies...
