Recently, singer Lee Soo Young appeared on a KSB TV show. She surprised many people when she revealed the story surrounding her "huge" income during her peak.

Although she did not give a specific figure, Lee Soo Young said that the amount of money she earned was more than the amount of money in Cho-X Bank. According to News1, the bank Lee Soo Young is most likely referring to is ChoHung Bank, one of the oldest banks in Korea.

The singer added that her income in her 20s was enough to buy many expensive buildings in Korea. However, the star born in 1979 lost everything when she got involved in a financial scam at the age of 30. After that incident, she lost all her assets and even incurred a debt of 3 billion won (equivalent to more than 54 billion VND). To pay off the debt, Lee Soo Young had to sell some of her houses.

This shock caused Lee Soo Young to have a mental breakdown and had to undergo treatment for depression for a long time. Luckily, Lee Soo Young later overcame the difficulties with the help of her current husband.

After the incident, Lee Soo Young's view on money completely changed. She and her husband decided to use the money they earned to enjoy life instead of hoarding it. The singer also said that she would not leave any inheritance to her only son because to her, "the worst thing you can leave to your children is money."

Lee Soo Young debuted as a singer in 1999 and quickly became the face of solo ballad singers in Korea in the 2000s. She was one of the singers with the best-selling albums in Korea at that time. Lee Soo Young was even so famous that music shows, festivals or entertainment events would be considered strange without her appearance.
