The route connecting DT720 to Gia Huynh railway station (Tanh Linh district, Binh Thuan province) is being accelerated in construction, expected to be many months ahead of schedule compared to the contract.

The Ba Ta - Tra Tan route connecting DT720 connects the two districts of Tanh Linh and Duc Linh. Over the years, it has been severely damaged, making it very difficult for people to travel and transport goods.

On the days before Tet, the construction site is bustling with trucks carrying materials, rollers, and machinery operating.

Many construction teams are paving the road surface and roadbed to ensure smooth traffic and safe travel for people during the Lunar New Year.

Engineer Le Van Quyet, Deputy Project Manager of Hoa Binh Company, said that the package started construction in early January 2024 and is expected to be completed in December 2025.

Up to now, the contractor has paved the road surface, increasing the asphalt paving speed to nearly 13km for people to travel conveniently.

"If the site handover progress goes smoothly, we will complete the package in June, before the rainy season, reaching the finish line several months ahead of schedule," said engineer Quyet.

After 1 year of construction, the contractor is speeding up the asphalt paving so people can travel safely during Tet.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong, project supervision consultant, said that the remaining difficulty of the project is that more than 1km of the final section of the route has not been cleared, so the drainage ditch and traffic safety items cannot be constructed.

"The Department of Natural Resources and Environment has recently completed the appraisal and handed over the cadastral map to the District Land Fund Development Center to soon develop a land recovery plan to speed up construction progress before the rainy season," said Mr. Phong.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tu, a resident of Gia Huynh commune (Tanh Linh district) said that a few months ago the road leading to the railway station was full of potholes.

Along the road there are primary and secondary schools. During the rainy season, people and parents have a hard time taking their children to school.

"Now the asphalt road is almost finished just in time for Tet, the road is smoother and safer than before, people in the area are very happy...", Mrs. Tu said excitedly.

Road rollers are operating busily at the first section of the route connecting with DT720, Tanh Linh district.

The project will start construction in early 2024, starting at DT720 and ending at Gia Huynh station, Tanh Linh district. The route is about 15km long, with a roadbed width of 7.5m and a road surface of 6.5m.

On the upgraded and expanded route of Ba Ta bridge at Km 2+719. The total investment of the project is over 102 billion VND from the provincial budget.
