The Chinese team is ranked 5th in the world and 1st in Asia. Even when using the second team, this team is still the number one candidate for the title of the Asian Women's Volleyball Championship. Against a superior opponent, the Vietnamese women's team could not create a surprise and could not repeat the 2 wins in the 2022 match with this opponent.

Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and her teammates did not start well, making many mistakes in the first step and defending the back line passively. When the Vietnamese women's team got into the rhythm of the match, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet directed his players to make quick moves, passing the ball to the sideline to create surprises, avoiding the opponent's 2-man block. However, the Vietnamese team only scored 13 points in the first set (losing 13-25).

In set 2, the Vietnamese team's attacking moves were predicted by the opponent. On the other hand, because the opponent attacked so well, the Vietnamese players often did not catch the first step well, leading to the setter not having a favorable position to have many surprise options.

Meanwhile, the Chinese women's team continued to show their superiority in their ability to move, coordinate in a variety of ways, and quickly observe the empty spots in the back row of the Vietnamese team to score points. The Vietnamese team lost 12-25 in game 2.

Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet reminded his players to stay calm and observe better when shooting when facing the opponent's 2-man blocker. This helped the Vietnamese team improve their effectiveness in game 3. Thanh Thuy and her teammates took the lead against their opponents for the first time in the match.

However, the Chinese team still showed their superiority in skill to break away. The number 1 team in Asia won 25-22 in the third game and ended the match.

Losing 0-3 (13-25, 12-25, 22-25) on aggregate, the Vietnamese women's team will play for third place. The Chinese team will advance to the final.
