Dissemination and popularization of legal regulations on trade defense

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - On the morning of August 15, the Department of Industry and Trade of Thanh Hoa coordinated with the Department of Trade Defense and the Department of Import and Export (Ministry of Industry and Trade) to organize a conference to disseminate legal regulations on trade defense; new regulations on the process of certifying the origin of goods (C/O) in non-preferential form for state management officials, civil servants and enterprises in the province.

Attending the training session were representatives of the Department of Trade Defense, the Department of Import and Export ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ); leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade of Thanh Hoa; representatives of provincial departments, branches and sectors; People's Committees of communes, wards, enterprises, cooperatives, production and business households and enterprises operating in the field of export in the province.

Mr. Chu Thang Trung, Deputy Director of the Department of Trade Defense (Ministry of Industry and Trade) spoke.

At the conference, delegates were informed and updated on the context and trends of global and regional trade defense; key industries at risk of investigation; some risks of trade defense when exporting goods to the US market; and instructions for businesses to exploit information and data of the early warning system to limit risks of trade defense.

Along with that, experts have guided the process of granting non-preferential C/O of goods according to the regulations of the importing country; certificates of unchanged origin of goods and receiving registration of certificates of origin codes; giving necessary notes for businesses in import and export activities.

Within the framework of the conference, delegates discussed and analyzed common violations related to the origin of goods and international trade and had experts directly answer some questions related to trade defense.

According to the leader of Thanh Hoa Department of Industry and Trade, the trend of international trade defense is increasing; countries are also setting increasingly strict requirements on the origin and provenance of goods. This conference will help officials, civil servants of state management agencies, and enterprises promptly update market trends as well as new regulations in import and export activities, thereby proactively handling and responding to trade defense cases, making the most of incentives to promote goods exports.
