Knowing how to apply the coordinated tactics from training into real combat, U22 Vietnam not only neutralized the attacking ability of the stronger team but also took the lead against the opponent until near the end of the match.
Of the two overseas Vietnamese players called up to the Vietnam U22 team this time, only midfielder Viktor Le has quickly integrated into the team's playing style. Meanwhile, Andrej Nguyen An Khanh (FK Trinec - Czech Republic) has yet to show his level and class.

An Khanh was born in 2005, plays as a central midfielder and has been called up to the Vietnam national team and the U23 national team under coaches Philippe Troussier and Hoang Anh Tuan. However, An Khanh's limited ability to communicate with teammates has affected his expertise and competitive spirit.
In the friendly tournament in China, this 20-year-old midfielder was not allowed to play in the match against U22 Korea on March 20. Although he has skills, with a height of 1.75 m, An Khanh is not effective in pressing and competing with opponents. If he does not improve, the player who plays in the Czech Republic will find it difficult to stay in the Vietnamese national team at all levels, and even find it difficult to be named in the squad for the 2026 U23 Asian qualifiers and the 33rd SEA Games.
Meanwhile, midfielder Viktor Le is increasingly showing his important position in the U22 Vietnam squad. The midfielder, born in 2003, played throughout the draw with U22 Korea and was highly appreciated by coach Dinh Hong Vinh for his comprehensive offensive and defensive abilities and dedication, and adherence to tactical tactics. Viktor was born in Moscow (Russia), with a Vietnamese father and a Russian mother. Before returning to Vietnam to play in early 2023, Viktor played for the Torpedo Moscow youth team and the CSKA Moscow Academy.
Viktor Le used to play for Binh Dinh and Ha Tinh in the V-League, so he quickly adapted to the training and competition routine when he joined the national U22 team. In addition, at Ha Tinh Club, Viktor learned a lot of valuable experience from the senior midfielder. Through that, the 21-year-old midfielder improved and showed maturity in his first time playing for the Vietnamese youth team.
The U22 Vietnam team will face U22 Uzbekistan at 6:35 p.m. on March 23. Coach Dinh Hong Vinh commented: "The whole team performed well in the opening match, showing solidarity, following tactics and not being afraid to face strong opponents. However, the players still have shortcomings, especially in the ability to control the tempo and handle situations."
