U23 Vietnam actively practices to prepare for the match with Laos

VHO - The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) said that the Vietnam U23 team entered its second training session in Jakarta (Indonesia) on the evening of July 15 (local time), continuing to complete preparations for the opening match against Laos U23 in Group B, 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship.

At the tournament, U23 Vietnam is in Group B with U23 Laos and U23 Cambodia, competing on July 19 and 22 respectively.

U23 Vietnam is in the process of preparing for the tournament.

With two consecutive championships in 2022 and 2023, coach Kim Sang-sik's students are expected to successfully defend their title in the regional arena.

The first challenge in the journey to defend the championship of U23 Vietnam is U23 Laos.

To prepare for this match, U23 Vietnam continued to have a training session at Madya Stadium, located near Bung Karno Stadium and not far from the team's base.

However, due to the frequent traffic congestion in Jakarta, it took the couple nearly 50 minutes by bus to get to this location.

In this training session, the volume of exercise was significantly increased compared to the first training session, focusing on team coordination, state transition as well as checking and reviewing the squad in preparation for the match with U23 Laos.

The players are working hard to compete for a starting spot.

The training atmosphere was very positive as all the players tried their best to compete for the opportunity to play, thereby contributing to creating healthy competition and high determination in the whole team.

In an interview with the press before the training session, defender Pham Ly Duc highly appreciated the quality of training conditions in Indonesia, and affirmed that the whole team is aiming for the highest goal of winning the championship.

“Coach Kim Sang-sik always requires each player to go on the field with more than 100% spirit and determination. Even though there are times when we have slight pain on the training ground, with the encouragement of the coaching staff, we always try to stand up and continue to practice without stopping.

The 2022 and 2023 championships are a source of pride and motivation for the whole team to strive to defend their achievements this season. We are quite comfortable and do not face much pressure,” Ly Duc shared.

The opening match between U23 Vietnam and U23 Laos will take place at 5:00 p.m. on July 19 at Patriot Stadium, Bekasi, Indonesia and will be broadcast live on FPT Play.
