In the first quarter of 2025, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has carried out professional tasks and achieved positive results. Organizing activities to celebrate the Party, celebrate the Spring of At Ty 2025, celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam , celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Ba To Uprising and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Quang Ngai province. In addition, events such as Quang Ngai Tourism Week and Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2025 have been successful.
The Department organizes provincial sports tournaments and actively prepares athletes to participate in regional and national sports festivals. Mass sports activities take place enthusiastically, contributing to improving the spiritual life of the people.
In terms of tourism , the results were very positive with about 637,000 visitors in the first 4 months of the year, up 49% over the same period last year and reaching 34% of the yearly plan. Tourism promotion and promotion activities were strongly implemented, such as the 2025 Tourism Promotion Conference in Quang Nam province and events linking 06 provinces in the Central and Central Highlands regions.
At the meeting, the leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also frankly acknowledged some of the industry's limitations such as: the disbursement progress of some public investment projects is still slow; the call for socialization in the field of culture - sports - tourism is still limited; tourism infrastructure in some key areas has not met the requirements. Inter-regional and inter-provincial tourism development linkage activities are still not synchronous and not very effective.
Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Hoang Tuan acknowledged the achievements of the culture, sports and tourism sector in the first quarter, and requested the Department to continue to promote its advisory role and coordinate with departments, branches and localities to effectively implement tasks in the second quarter of 2025. In particular, focusing on administrative reform, digital transformation, socialization of cultural and sports activities and improving the quality of services for tourists.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the staff, civil servants and public employees of the sector to improve their capacity and sense of responsibility ; closely follow assigned tasks, and advise on sustainable development strategies for the fields of culture, sports, tourism and communications.
Urgently review the tasks being implemented by the sector, continue to carry out the assigned tasks. At the same time, coordinate with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Kon Tum province in reviewing cultural and historical relics; report and propose to include in the public investment portfolio for the period 2026-2030 for relics that need to be restored, embellished, upgraded and repaired. In addition, focus on accelerating the disbursement progress of projects invested by the sector.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee noted that 2025 is the year of many important events, such as Party Congresses at all levels leading up to the 14th National Party Congress,... Therefore, it is required that propaganda and celebration activities be organized practically, effectively, with focus, ensuring savings and suitability to local conditions.
