Ukrinform news agency, citing a statement from the 14th Army Corps of Ukraine today (May 31), reported: “The village of Riasne in the Sumy province of Ukraine remains under the control of Kyiv’s forces. Despite recent Russian claims of occupying the village, the 119th Territorial Defense Brigade and other units are holding their positions.”

The Russian military has not yet commented on the statement.
A map published today by the conflict-tracking website Deep State shows that the area east and south of the village of Riasne is in the gray zone, meaning where fighting is taking place between Russian troops and Ukrainian defense forces.

Ukraine receives additional IRIS-T launch systems from Germany.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on May 31 that the Kyiv military had received another IRIS-T air defense system launcher from Germany.
“Yesterday, May 30th, we received the IRIS-T launcher. We thank Germany for their continued contribution to protecting civilians, with thousands of lives saved thanks to such strong support. But we also need missiles for our air defense systems to be able to repel multiple Russian attacks,” Zelensky shared.
According to the RBC news agency, the Ukrainian army has recently been facing a shortage of missiles for Western-made air defense systems such as Patriot, NASAMS, and IRIS-T.
