Britney Spears shared news of the "secret project" on social media, writing that Platt "always makes movies I love" and telling fans to "stay tuned" for more details.
Universal Pictures acquired the rights to the Grammy-winning singer's memoir (released last October, which has sold more than 2.5 million copies in the US alone) in a highly competitive auction.

In the book, Britney Spears chronicles her journey to pop superstardom from her days on the "Mickey Mouse Club" to her highly publicized and closely watched conservatorship case, with remarkable candor and humor. The book is brutally honest, delving into her relationship with ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake and her family, documenting the predatory nature of those around her in their attempts to control the singer's life.
The audiobook — read by Oscar-nominated actress Michelle Williams, with an introduction by Britney Spears — is the fastest-selling book in publisher Simon & Schuster's history.
"I poured my heart and soul into my memoir and I am grateful to my fans and readers around the world for their unwavering support," said Britney Spears.

Meanwhile, the first part of Chu and Pratt's adaptation of the hit Broadway musical Wicked , starring Emmy, Grammy, and Tony winner Cynthia Erivo and Grammy winner Ariana Grande, will hit theaters on November 22. Wicked Part Two is scheduled for release on November 26, 2025.
