A dream from the Harvard lecture halls.

From the warm and hospitable land of Tuyen Quang to the prestigious Harvard University, it's been a long journey filled with effort. For Nguyen Thanh Tung, from Group 5, Ha Giang 1 Ward, that path began with a simple belief: Education can change a person's life, and every individual deserves the opportunity to be themselves.

Nguyen Thanh Tung.

During his years at Fulbright University, he supported work in various environments: public schools, private schools, non-profit organizations, startups, and more. From this experience, a major question emerged and guided Tung in all his choices: How can every student, regardless of their background or personality, find a suitable path and receive the support to continue on it?

Tung realized he needed a deeper understanding of policies, systems, and how to translate initiatives into long-term change, and Harvard University was the right choice, where he could answer big questions and learn from people from around the world who shared a common desire to serve the community. With determination and effort, Tung was accepted into the Master of Science in Educational Policy Analysis program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, on a full Fulbright scholarship from the U.S. government.

At the prestigious Harvard University, Tung aims to conduct in-depth research on educational policy, particularly the application of technology and artificial intelligence in secondary schools. He participates in international projects and hopes to soon bring suitable models to Vietnam for testing. Tet 2026 will also be the first time Tung celebrates the Lunar New Year away from his family. Without the warm atmosphere of familiar city streets, he faces the quiet solitude of longing.

But it was also a moment for him to feel more deeply the journey he was on. Tung will celebrate Tet with the Vietnamese community in Cambridge and introduce the traditional Vietnamese Tet to his international friends. He calls it a way to keep spring in his heart, because as long as he remembers and tells stories about where he grew up, Tet will always be there, present in a very special way.
