The National Assembly Standing Committee questioned the groups in the fields of agriculture and rural development; industry and trade; culture, sports and tourism.

On August 21, at the National Assembly House, under the chairmanship of Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, the National Assembly Standing Committee organized a question-and-answer session on the implementation of the resolutions of the National Assembly Standing Committee on thematic supervision and question-and-answer sessions from the beginning of the 15th National Assembly term to the end of 2023 for the first group of fields, including the fields of: agriculture and rural development; industry and trade; culture, sports and tourism.

The question and answer session was connected online with 62 National Assembly delegations in provinces and centrally-run cities.

Speaking at the opening of the question-and-answer session, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized that this was the first time in the 15th National Assembly term that the National Assembly Standing Committee had carried out the "re-supervision" activity, thereby comprehensively assessing and clarifying difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process, thereby finding solutions to promptly resolve them and further enhance the responsibilities of the agencies subject to supervision. The issues and areas of thematic supervision and questioning were all important contents, of great interest to voters and the people. Through reports and actual results, it was shown that the implementation of the resolutions of the National Assembly Standing Committee had achieved many remarkable results, creating positive changes. However, some implementation contents were slow, some effective contents and implementation results did not meet requirements.

Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong presented a report summarizing the content of the examination of the Ethnic Council and the National Assembly Committees; reported the opinions of the People's Petition Committee on the implementation of the resolutions of the National Assembly Standing Committee on thematic supervision and questioning from the beginning of the 15th National Assembly term to the end of 2023.

Speaking at the end of the question and answer session for 3 areas: agriculture and rural development; industry and trade; culture, sports and tourism, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai said that 30 delegates questioned, 6 delegates debated, 11 delegates registered but due to running out of time, they were asked to submit their questions in writing. Overall, the question and answer session was still lively, responsible, frank and constructive. The National Assembly Standing Committee highly appreciated the ministers and heads of sectors for focusing on answering issues that National Assembly delegates were interested in; explaining quite fully the limited issues. At the same time, it acknowledged the efforts of the ministers in implementing the resolutions of the National Assembly Standing Committee and proposing solutions to overcome shortcomings within their scope of responsibility.

Late this afternoon and morning of August 22, the questioning session continued on the fields of justice, internal affairs, security and order, social safety, inspection, court, and prosecution.
