This is essentially an evil organization, operating illegally and causing significant impacts on security and order in many localities, including Lai Chau province. Preventing and strictly handling violations in the activities of those who call themselves members of the “Church of God the Mother” in the province is necessary to raise awareness and vigilance among people, especially ethnic minorities, to prevent these subjects from taking advantage of, luring, luring, and causing insecurity and disorder in the area.

Activities of believers of "Church of God the Mother".

The official and full name of the “Church of God the Mother” is “ World Mission Society Church of God – WMSCOG”. The organization “Church of God the Mother” also has other names: “Church of God”, “God the Mother”, “Church of God that testifies to Jesus”, originating from Korea, founded by Ahn Sahng Hong (commonly known as Anh Sang Hong) in 1964 in Korea. The basic doctrine is taken from the Bible (66 books) of Protestantism. However, this organization is boycotted by Protestants, not recognized, and even considered a “heresy” because of the changes in its interpretation of doctrine and practice. Especially the belief in “God the Mother”, or the belief in “God the Trinity” incarnated in Mr. Anh Sang Hong and “God the Mother” incarnated in Mrs. Jang Gin Ja (his wife). In religious activities, the easy point recognize that believers do not use crosses or statues of Jesus, women cover themselves with white lace scarves "in Vietnam".

The “Church of God the Mother” entered Vietnam around 2001 through the entry of Koreans to Vietnam and a number of Vietnamese workers in Korea returning home, forming the first group in Ho Chi Minh City around 2005-2006, led by Nguyen Van Hoa (missionary) from Da Nang onwards. In 2013, it appeared in the North and flourished in 2016, led by Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tam (deacon) from Thua Thien-Hue onwards. In essence, the activities of the “Church of God the Mother” are both superstitious and contain many complex security and order issues, affecting the great national unity bloc and also creating conditions for hostile individuals and organizations to take advantage of and distort the situation of freedom of belief and religion in Vietnam. This is a self-proclaimed religious organization, not recognized by the Vietnamese government.

In Lai Chau province, the "Church of God the Mother" groups began to appear in 2016 by a "LCL" Dao ethnic group member in Ban Lang commune, Phong Tho district (old). After being propagandized and lured by other members while working in Hanoi , when returning to the locality, he continued to influence and attract followers... In 2018, the "LCL" group attracted 31 followers, and by 2025, they continued to attract 44 followers to believe and join this organization. In October 2025, the authorities discovered and caught red-handed the LCL and his wife, NTT, group 21, Tan Phong ward, organizing prayers and activities for the "Church of God the Mother" for 4 women. Expanding the verification, the authorities clarified that there were 44 followers and followers of this organization.

What the “Church of God the Mother” propagates is completely contrary to the good customs and moral and cultural values ​​of the Vietnamese people; it is not permitted by Vietnamese law with the main purpose of profiteering. The leaders have collected money from believers for the purpose of serving the ritual and daily activities. Preventing and strictly handling violations in the activities of those who claim to be members of the “Church of God the Mother” is necessary, bringing peace to society, and receiving the approval of public opinion...

Lai Chau Provincial Police recommends: All people in general, party members and students in Lai Chau province in particular need to be extremely alert, identify and clearly distinguish the purely religious activities of legal religious organizations from the acts of exploiting beliefs and religions of the "Church of God the Mother"; raise vigilance against the activities of seduction, enticement by material means and deceptive propaganda of illegal religious associations and groups, do not let yourself and your family members be seduced, enticed by these subjects, causing negative effects on yourself, your family and society. In case of detecting someone suspected of illegal religious propaganda activities, forcing or enticing others to join religious organizations not recognized by the State, it is necessary to immediately notify the local authorities or the nearest police force to take measures to handle according to the provisions of law.
