After completing the tasks such as organizing the consultation steps, selecting personnel, the villages have actively focused on preparing facilities, voting locations as well as focusing on propaganda about the election day.

Comrade Do Thi Tham, Chairwoman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Ha Long Commune (Van Don District) said : “The election work was carried out by Ha Long Commune on schedule, ensuring seriousness, compliance with procedures and legal regulations, especially the implementation of personnel procedures and consultations were carried out in accordance with regulations. Ha Long Commune has established 15 Election Teams in 15 villages. In the past time, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee - People's Committee - Fatherland Front Committee of the Commune has regularly inspected the preparation work of the villages in terms of festive decoration, facilities and the posting of candidate lists, voter lists, environmental sanitation, and landscaping around the village cultural house... Up to this point, the preparation work in the villages in the commune has been basically completed, ready for the important election day”.

The selected person has the qualifications and prestige to undertake the work of the village. Currently, the village is focusing on propaganda and mobilization work to get a large number of voters to participate in the election on December 15" .

The election of village, hamlet and ward chiefs is an important event to promote the people's mastery, improve the effectiveness of building and implementing grassroots democracy regulations, strengthen solidarity and unity in the community; at the same time, select and elect exemplary people with qualities, capacity and prestige, representing the community to carry out self-management work in the area. To prepare for this important political event, all levels from district to commune in Van Don district have proactively and actively directed and implemented the election work to ensure the content and steps are in accordance with the regulations and instructions of the Central and the province.

The district has established 72 election teams with 476 members. Regarding the candidates for village and ward chiefs, 72/72 villages and ward introduced 1 person to vote; of which 61 were re-elected, 11 were new candidates. The villages and ward also collected opinions from household representatives on the election format: 69 villages and ward voted by show of hands; 3 villages voted by secret ballot.
