The wooden painting “Vinh quy bai to” is located in the space of Tien Duong, Thai Hoc house (Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam). This is a unique work, achieving two Vietnamese records: The largest hand-carved monolithic wooden painting in Vietnam and the wooden painting with the largest number of people making it in Vietnam, marking the creative effort and aspiration to honor the tradition of studiousness of the Vietnamese people.

The work “Vinh quy bai to” is made from rare rosewood, measuring 8.33m long, 1.70m wide, and 16cm thick. The painting vividly depicts the journey of studying with a teacher from childhood, to the camp to take the Huong exam, then to the capital to take the Hoi exam, the Dinh exam, to have one’s name on the Golden Board and to be granted the King’s Grace to return to the village during the Vinh quy ceremony.

Speaking about the meaning of the work, Artisan Bui Trong Lang shared: “This is the clearest and most passionate voice for our lifelong aspiration in the profession. Through the work, we want to convey the message of honoring our country’s culture, marking the immortal quintessential values ​​in the flow of national history.”

On this occasion, Dr. Le Xuan Kieu, Director of the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, expressed his gratitude to the leaders of Hanoi City, leaders of agencies, organizations, individuals and artisan Bui Trong Lang and artisans of Ngoc Than village for their trust and donation of the work "Vinh quy bai to" to the Center. At the same time, Dr. Le Xuan Kieu also said that this is an event towards the 950th anniversary of the founding of Quoc Tu Giam.

Placing the wooden painting “Vinh quy bai to” at Thai Hoc House has a particularly profound meaning. This is the most important educational and cultural space of Thang Long-Hanoi, a place to honor talents, promote learning and preserve the tradition of Vietnamese philosophy. The work has become a highlight in the space of Thai Hoc House, thereby helping the public, especially the younger generation, better understand the ethics of studiousness, respect for teachers and the aspiration to serve the country.
