On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, on August 18, at the special national relic of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam (Hanoi), the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam held the launching ceremony of "Reading Cultural Space - Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam".
“Reading culture space - Temple of Literature - Imperial Academy” is deployed in an open space at Van Lake in the relic site, aiming to connect heritage - knowledge - community, encouraging people's active participation in cultural life.
This is not just a place to read books, but also a cultural meeting place connecting the young generation with traditional values, spreading the love of books, the spirit of learning and the appreciation of heritage, especially for students.
This model is essentially an open library that serves the community for free, aiming to spread reading culture, arouse love of books, contribute to building a learning society and promote the spirit of lifelong learning.

“Reading Culture Space - Temple of Literature” currently has nearly 1,000 valuable books donated by sponsors, including: Hanoi Publishing House, Kim Dong Publishing House, Women's Publishing House, Thieu Nien Tien Phong and Nhi Dong Newspaper, Huy Hoang Culture Joint Stock Company, Thai Ha Book Joint Stock Company, Vietnam Books and Media Company Limited (Tri Thuc Tre); at the same time, there are also a large number of books circulated from the Cultural Center and Hanoi Library.
The most prominent books here are about the history and culture of Thang Long-Hanoi, the Temple of Literature-Quoc Tu Giam and the tradition of examinations; famous Vietnamese Confucian scholars; literature, art; life skills and many other useful areas of knowledge. Among them, the Thang Long 1,000-year-old Culture Bookcase by Hanoi Publishing House is a valuable highlight.
The Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam organizes this cultural activity model to promote the value of Ho Van, creating a long-term highlight for exchange and experience activities associated with books. This is also the first step for Ho Van to become the first public reading space with its own identity at a special national historical site, and at the same time a "knowledge playground" of the Capital.
Along with the heritage experience activities organized here, the orientation is to gradually turn Ho Van space into a cultural space of Hanoi capital with diverse cultural industrial products, attracting visitors.
“Reading culture space - Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam” serves all audiences from students, university students to the elderly, tourists and residents around the relic to read on site, completely free of charge.
