
On the morning of August 20th, the Traffic Police Department of Hue City Police announced that, during patrol and inspection activities, they had discovered a vehicle transporting goods of unknown origin.
At 3 PM on August 17th, at Km32 of the La Son – Tuy Loan expressway, the patrol team of the Phu Loc Traffic Police Station, under the Traffic Police Department of Hue City Police, spotted a truck with license plate 49H-02041 exhibiting suspicious behavior and requested it to stop.
Upon inspection, the patrol team discovered 600 sacks of white granulated sugar in the truck's cargo area, weighing nearly 30 tons, with a total value of approximately 600 million VND.
At the time of inspection, driver Pham Tan Tam (born in 1993, residing in Hamlet 4, Hoai Nhon Dong Ward, Gia Lai Province) was unable to present any documents proving the origin of the goods.
The task force drew up a report on the incident and handed over the suspects, evidence, and vehicles to the Economic Police Department of Hue City Police for further investigation and handling in accordance with their authority.
