Striker Nguyen Van Toan played 57 minutes in Seoul E Land's 2-0 win over Bucheon in round 13 of K-League 2.
Van Toan started his second game in the Korean second division on the afternoon of May 20, playing as a central striker in Seoul's 4-3-3 system. He almost scored his first goal for Seoul with a shot from outside the penalty area that hit the crossbar in the first half. The Vietnamese striker was active, actively competing in duels, before leaving the field in the 57th minute and giving way to Brazilian striker Ronan.

Van Toan dribbles the ball during Seoul E Land's 3-2 win over Cheonan in round 12 of K-League 2 on May 13, 2023.
Ronan opened the scoring in the 72nd minute after a pass from midfielder Lee Sang-min. In the 87th minute, the 1.95m tall striker scored from the penalty spot to seal a 2-0 victory for home team Seoul. This victory helped them climb one place to eighth, with 17 points after 13 matches. Meanwhile, Bucheon is in danger of losing fourth place after round 13.
Van Toan made his first start in K-League 2 in the first round, when Seoul lost 2-3 to visiting team Cheongju on March 1, 2023. He played 81 minutes in that match, creating several good chances but his teammates failed to capitalize.
Since then, Van Toan has often been a substitute for Ronan. He came on as a substitute in five matches, but has yet to score. However, he did assist a goal for his teammates in the win over Bucheon in the Korean Cup on March 29. The former HAGL striker was also injured and was absent for more than a month, before returning to play in early May 2023.
Seoul is in good form with four unbeaten matches, including three wins, to escape the bottom group. During this period, Van Toan has been on the field, with his playing time gradually increasing until he was in the starting lineup on the afternoon of May 20. In Seoul's win over Cheonan on May 13, the 27-year-old striker played 33 minutes.
Van Toan will compete for a starting spot again in the next match, when Seoul hosts K-League 1 representative Gwangju in the Korean Cup on May 24. After that, Seoul will visit the second-bottom K-League 2 team Ansan Greeners on May 28.
