The exhibition showcases contemporary paintings by talented young artists: Nguyen Hoang Dung (Zunng Zunng), Nguyen Linh Chi (Chi L. Nguyen), Dang Hung Son (votudi), Vu Manh Linh, Ho Tuan Duy (Tran Ket), and Hoang Anh Trung (Nate). The artists' practice at this exhibition explores multiple extremes: between sincerity and satire, between intimacy and performance, between the sacred and the absurd – creating multifaceted dialogues about how the younger generation perceives and exists in today's world .

The exhibition title, “AS ABOVE, SO BELOW,” is inspired by an ancient Hermetic proposition, often associated with The Emerald Tablet in Western mysticism concerning the interplay between different levels of reality. The proposition states that the macro and the micro reflect each other – what happens in the heavens is reflected on earth, and vice versa. In the context of this exhibition, that proposition is reimagined through the logic of the digital age: where the boundaries between online and offline, between private and collective, between material and spiritual life are increasingly blurred.

For the artists in the exhibition, the digital environment is no longer a novelty but has become an all-encompassing atmosphere – both the material and the context for forming their personal systems of imagery, symbols, and beliefs. Through diverse practices, the exhibition reflects the thoughts and experiments of young artists, while also raising questions about the role of art in creating profound experiences in an environment increasingly dominated by the speed and density of information.
“The exhibition doesn’t separate the digital space from the spiritual realm, but suggests that they are inherently intertwined: both operate through mechanisms of projection, transmission, replication, and belief. Browsing, posting, sharing, looking, waiting for feedback… are not just communication behaviors, but also contemporary rituals. And in the hands of Gen Z artists, these rituals become the intersection of resistance, tenderness, absurdity, and rebirth,” Curator Do Tuong Linh shared.

The exhibition “AS ABOVE, SO BELOW ” reflects the commitment of the Vincom Contemporary Art Center (VCCA) to its mission of supporting young artistic talents. During the exhibition, VCCA will organize diverse and engaging experiential activities to bring art closer to the public.
The exhibition will be open from May 23, 2026 to June 30, 2026 at the Vincom Contemporary Art Center (VCCA), B1-R3 Vincom Mega Mall Royal City, 72A Nguyen Trai Street, Thanh Xuan Ward, Hanoi .
