- In 2025, the legal target on import-export tax collection assigned by the Vietnam Customs Department and the People's Committee of Lang Son province to the Customs Branch of Region VI is 6,450 billion VND . Although there are many factors affecting the tax collection from import-export activities of the agency , with appropriate solutions, by July 30, 2025, the total revenue of the Customs Branch of Region VI (in charge of customs management in Lang Son province) was more than 6,600 billion VND, reaching more than 103% of the legal target assigned in 2025.
With synchronous solutions implemented since the beginning of 2025, on average, each month, the Customs Branch of Region VI has collected more than 900 billion VND. This is the highest monthly average figure ever.

As of July 30, 2025, the import-export tax revenue of Tan Thanh border gate Customs has reached more than 1,855 billion VND, exceeding 173% of the target assigned by the ordinance from the beginning of 2025. This is the largest revenue that the customs unit at Tan Thanh border gate has ever achieved.
Mr. Nong Quang Hung, Deputy Head of Tan Thanh Border Gate Customs, shared: Identifying the difficulties in collecting import and export taxes, from the beginning of 2025, the unit has reviewed import and export enterprises of goods with tax rates allowed to carry out procedures through the border gate such as consumer goods, household goods, food (beer, soy sauce), and seafood. After that, the unit directly met and encouraged these enterprises to carry out import and export procedures at the border gate.
In addition, since the Tan Thanh - Po Chai customs clearance officially became part of the Huu Nghi (Vietnam) - Huu Nghi Quan (China) international border gate pair from May 27, 2024, the leaders of Tan Thanh border gate Customs have paid special attention to solutions to attract businesses importing trucks and semi-trailers to carry out procedures through the unit. Thanks to that, in the first 7 months of 2025, the tax revenue from this item alone of Tan Thanh border gate Customs reached more than 920 billion VND.
In addition to Tan Thanh Border Gate Customs, as of July 30, tax collection of other border gate customs units also exceeded the target assigned by the ordinance from the beginning of 2025. Of which, Chi Ma Border Gate Customs collected more than 671 billion VND, exceeding by nearly 12%; Dong Dang International Railway Station Border Gate Customs collected more than 243 billion VND, exceeding by more than 52%; Coc Nam Customs collected nearly 92 billion VND, exceeding by 833% compared to the target assigned by the ordinance...
Through research, we learned that, in order to improve the efficiency of tax collection and customs clearance, since the beginning of January 2025, the leaders of the customs offices at the border gates in Lang Son have implemented many synchronous solutions. Specifically, the leaders of the customs units have actively met, discussed and mobilized both old and new enterprises to register for import and export procedures at the border gates. At the same time, they regularly held talks with the Chinese customs authorities at the opposite border gate to extend the customs clearance time, helping to significantly increase efficiency compared to 2024.
Customs leaders at border gates also proactively advised the Customs Sub-Department of Region VI to propose to the People's Committee of Lang Son province to exempt the use of infrastructure at the border gate for newly imported trucks; arrange staff to work all week , including weekends and holidays to promptly handle procedures for businesses; review and shorten some procedures to speed up customs clearance time.
With these methods, in the first 7 months of 2025, customs units at border gates have attracted more than 3,000 enterprises operating in import and export of goods to carry out customs procedures at border gates, including more than 1,100 new enterprises. This is the core factor that helps the import and export tax collection to this point complete and exceed the target assigned by the ordinance from the beginning of 2025.
Continue to promote tax collection
Although the target of collecting import-export tax on goods from the beginning of 2025 has been completed and exceeded 5 months early, the Customs Branch of Region VI continues to set a target of striving to achieve higher collection.
Mr. Nguyen Quang Bach, Head of Customs Operations Department, Region VI Customs Branch said: The latest revenue target set by Region VI Customs Branch is to strive to collect 11,400 billion VND by the end of 2025.
To achieve this figure, currently, the customs at the border gates are continuing to develop plans and review the list of enterprises operating in the field of import and export of goods with high tax rates, thereby grasping and promptly resolving their problems during the procedure process. At the same time, continue to work with enterprises operating in warehouses and yards to agree to reduce the costs of loading, unloading, and transferring goods for import and export enterprises when carrying out import and export activities through the border gates. These are two solutions of the customs agency to create trust from the business community operating in import and export activities, thereby continuing to attract enterprises to carry out procedures at the customs at the border gates of Lang Son province.
Mr. Doan Tuan Anh, Deputy Head of Chi Ma Border Gate Customs Team, said: Currently, the unit has collected more than the assigned legal target and the latest target of Chi Ma Border Gate Customs is to strive to collect 1,170 billion VND by the end of 2025. To achieve the target, Chi Ma Border Gate Customs is continuing to strengthen the implementation of the administrative reform plan in implementing customs procedures for import and export goods and means of transport through the border gate to create maximum convenience for customs clearance activities. In addition, the unit also continues to implement solutions to attract enterprises operating in import and export of taxable goods to declare customs procedures at the unit in order to achieve the set target.
It is known that through review and evaluation, the leaders of the Customs Branch of Region VI found that there are still bright spots to strive to collect more than 11,000 billion VND by the end of 2025.
The evidence is clear that the import-export tax revenue in recent months has been higher than the previous month. For example, in March 2025, the revenue was more than VND 951 billion; in April 2025, it was more than VND 1,019 billion; in May 2025, it was more than VND 1,136 billion; in June 2025, it was more than VND 1,144 billion and in July 2025, it was more than VND 1,175 billion. According to statistics, at this time, the import-export tax revenue is about VND 100 billion/day.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Hoan, Head of the Customs Branch of Region VI, in order to continue to achieve higher import-export tax revenue, one of the important solutions to continue implementing is to make efforts to maintain the trade flow for many key commodities with high tax rates participating in import-export activities through the area, thereby increasing import-export tax revenue. Therefore, the branch's leaders will continue to direct customs at border gates to implement solutions to attract large manufacturing enterprises to promote import-export of goods through the province's border gates.
In addition, in the last 5 months of 2025, the leaders of the Customs Sub-Department of Region VI also directed the customs at border gates to continue to do a good job of preventing revenue loss, focusing on reviewing, inspecting and detecting violations in the field of goods classification, determining the value and origin of goods, thereby collecting and determining taxes, contributing to increasing revenue; continue to promote post-clearance inspection activities and continue to strengthen professional measures, strictly inspect and control import and export goods through border gates, detect and strictly handle organizations and individuals who take advantage of customs procedures to carry out acts of smuggling and trade fraud...
In addition to the professional solutions of the customs sector, during this time, the Customs Branch of Region VI is closely coordinating with other departments, branches and forces of the province to continue implementing measures to promote import and export activities of goods through the area. In particular, the customs agency will closely coordinate with the Department of Industry and Trade, with the Management Board of Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone... to grasp the unusual developments in import and export activities, especially at the end of the year to promptly take measures to handle each situation and specific time to ensure smooth customs clearance of import and export goods.
In the context of many economic fluctuations, the fact that the Customs Branch of Region VI continuously exceeds the budget revenue target shows its flexibility and sensitivity in applying appropriate solutions. It is believed that, with the spirit of continuous innovation and great efforts, Lang Son Customs will continue to achieve further successes, achieving and exceeding the target of 11,400 billion VND by the end of 2025, contributing positively to the socio-economic development of the province and the country.
