Following news of the Quảng Nam Youth Club's bus accident on Vi Ô Lắc pass, which resulted in the death of player Võ Minh Hiếu and serious injuries to two other players, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) sent a letter of condolences to the victim's family and the team.
In his letter of condolence, the President of the Vietnam Football Federation, Tran Quoc Tuan, wrote: “ On behalf of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Football Federation, I would like to express my deepest sympathy and sincere condolences to the families of the victims in this accident; I hope the families of the deceased players will soon overcome this painful time; and I wish the injured players and fans a speedy recovery so they can return to football.”
The Vietnam Football Federation calls on all Vietnamese football coaches and players in general, and all teams participating in the 2023 National Second Division Football League in particular, to stand by the families of the victims, support them during this difficult time, and share their support. Let us always remember the fondest memories and impressions of player Vo Minh Hieu and continue to build and develop football in Quang Nam .”

Also today, VFF General Secretary Duong Nghiep Khoi flew to Quang Nam to personally encourage, visit, and offer condolences to the family of player Vo Minh Hieu and the Quang Nam Youth team. In addition, Mr. Duong Nghiep Khoi, on behalf of the Vietnam Football Federation, presented 50 million VND to support the family of player Vo Minh Hieu and visited and provided financial assistance to two injured players, Luong Quang Huy and Nguyen Phi Hung, and a fan who was traveling with them in the car, who are currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
The incident occurred when the Quang Nam Youth team was returning after a 5-0 victory against Gama Vinh Phuc FC in the first leg of the National Second Division League, a match held at the Kon Tum Provincial Stadium. The vehicle experienced a technical malfunction and crashed on the Vi O Lac pass, in Ba To district, Quang Ngai province.
In the first leg, Quang Nam Youth Club finished third with 9 points. Coach Nguyen Duc Nhat ranked behind Dak Lak and Lam Dong clubs.
