After receiving information about the accident of the Quang Nam Youth Club's car overturning at Vi O Lac Pass, causing the death of player Vo Minh Hieu and serious injuries to two other players, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) sent a letter of condolences to the victim's family and the team.
In the condolence letter, President of the Vietnam Football Federation Tran Quoc Tuan wrote: “ On behalf of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Football Federation, I would like to express my deepest sympathy and sincere condolences to the families of the victims of the accident; hope that the families of the deceased players will soon overcome this painful moment; wish the injured players and fans a speedy recovery to return to football.
The Vietnam Football Federation calls on all Vietnamese football coaches and players in general and the teams participating in the 2023 National Second Division Football Tournament to turn to the families of the victims, stand by them in this difficult time and share and support. Always remember the best memories and impressions of player Vo Minh Hieu and continue to build Quang Nam football to develop .

Also today, VFF General Secretary Duong Nghiep Khoi flew to Quang Nam to directly encourage, visit and express condolences to the family of player Vo Minh Hieu as well as the Quang Nam Youth Football Team. In addition, Mr. Duong Nghiep Khoi also, on behalf of the Vietnam Football Federation, presented 50 million VND to support the family of player Vo Minh Hieu and visited and gave money to two players Luong Quang Huy, Nguyen Phi Hung and a fan who was injured in the same car and is currently being treated at the hospital.
The incident occurred when the Quang Nam Youth team returned home after winning 5-0 against Gama Vinh Phuc Club in the first leg of the National Second Division, the match was held at Kon Tum Provincial Stadium. The vehicle had technical problems and the accident occurred at Vi O Lac Pass, in Ba To District, Quang Ngai Province.
In the first leg, Quang Nam Youth Club finished third with 9 points. Coach Nguyen Duc Nhat ranked behind Dak Lak and Lam Dong clubs.
