Give opportunities, build trust.

Ms. Do Thi Ngan, Vice President of the Provincial Association for the Support of People with Disabilities and Orphans, stated: “After the merger, the province currently has 5,860 members, of which 5,597 are people with disabilities, with 98 clubs operating at the grassroots level. In recent years, the mobilization of resources has been innovated towards diversifying forms and expanding the scope of connections. The Association has proactively mobilized charitable organizations and individuals, connected with the business community, philanthropists inside and outside the province, and non- governmental organizations to directly support people with disabilities, orphans, and those in difficult circumstances. As a result, many meaningful activities have been implemented, spreading the spirit of sharing within the community.”

One of the models that has yielded practical results is the foreign non-governmental project "Supporting cattle breeding, creating opportunities to escape poverty for families of people with disabilities and orphans," implemented by the Association in Yen Nguyen commune with funding from Green Cross Switzerland.

Recently, 30 households in Hamlet 14, including people with disabilities and those classified as poor or near-poor, were presented with 30 breeding cows worth over 900 million VND in total.

Mr. Ma Trong Dao, from Gia Ke village, Yen Nguyen commune, whose daughter, Ms. Ma Thi Ngoc, is disabled, shared: “My family is very happy to receive the breeding cow. We will take good care of it according to the technical instructions to develop our economy , stabilize our lives, and gradually escape poverty.”

Comrade Le Duc Huy, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen Nguyen commune, said that after more than a year of implementation, the herd has grown from an initial 36 cows to 53. The project contributes to creating livelihoods and increasing income for disabled households classified as poor and near-poor in the area. In 2026, the Provincial Association for the Protection of Disabled People and Orphans, together with the Swiss Green Cross in Vietnam, will continue to support an additional 30 breeding cows for disabled households. In both phases, 60 disabled people and poor and near-poor households in the commune received support totaling over 1.8 billion VND, from non-refundable aid. To ensure the project's effectiveness, the local authorities have coordinated to review livestock farming conditions, established a Project Board and a Club for Disabled People to engage in economic activities in Yen Nguyen commune to support households in developing production and gradually stabilizing their lives.

The Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities and Orphans of Tuyen Quang Province, in coordination with the Vietnam Community Health Group - Hanoi, provided free medical examinations and medication to people with disabilities and the elderly in Dong Tho commune.

Connecting with love

In addition to supporting livelihoods, the Association also pays special attention to healthcare for people with disabilities and orphans. The Association has collaborated with the Department of Health and other units such as Huong Sen Rehabilitation Hospital, Phuong Bac General Hospital, 153 Tuyen Quang General Hospital, the Vietnam Community Health Group, and district and city health centers to organize free medical examinations, provide free medicine, and offer rehabilitation guidance, along with giving gifts to people in need.

Mr. Giàng A Phúc, from Nặm Đăm village, Quản Bạ commune, shared: “I am very moved to receive free medical examinations and medicine from the doctors. This is a great encouragement for people in difficult circumstances like us.”

In 2025, the Association coordinated with central committees, departments, agencies, organizations, businesses, philanthropists inside and outside the province, and non-governmental organizations to organize many support activities for over 3,000 people with disabilities, orphans, and people in particularly difficult circumstances, with a total value of money and in-kind donations exceeding 4.5 billion VND. The Association coordinated the opening of 27 vocational training classes in garment making and animal husbandry for 505 members in Vi Xuyen, Quang Binh, Hoang Su Phi, Yen Minh, Dong Van, Quan Ba, and Ha Giang. Since the beginning of 2026, the Association has organized 3 free medical examination and medication distribution sessions for over 600 people with disabilities in Tan Long and Quan Ba communes; supported 30 breeding cows; and donated 1,500 gift packages… with a total value exceeding 1.5 billion VND.

The practical and humane actions of the Provincial Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities and Orphans have contributed to instilling confidence and motivation in many disadvantaged individuals to overcome difficulties in life. To make the care for people with disabilities and orphans increasingly effective, the joint efforts of businesses, philanthropists, and the entire society are needed in supporting livelihoods, creating jobs, expanding educational opportunities, and integrating into the community. Through this, the spirit of "leaving no one behind" will continue to spread widely throughout society.
