The Vietnamese volleyball team excellently defeated the Philippines in the final match of the second leg of the Southeast Asian Volleyball Tournament (SEA V.League) taking place today in Indonesia.

The second game witnessed a fierce score competition between the Vietnamese team and the Philippines. Coach Tran Dinh Tien changed the lineup by sending Pham Van Hiep and Nguyen Van Hai onto the field, but the Philippines team played explosively at the crucial moment, defending impressively and attacking effectively, thereby rising to win 25/21, equalizing the score 1-1.

The third game witnessed an extremely impressive performance from Nguyen Ngoc Thuan. The number 1 hitter of the Vietnamese volleyball team "attacked left and right", scoring effectively while supporting well with blocks and serving to score directly. Thanks to that, the Vietnamese team widened the gap in points with the Philippines team before winning 25/17.

With high spirits, the Vietnamese players played very well in game 4. The attackers Quan Trong Nghia, Nguyen Van Hai, Tran Duy Tuyen, and Pham Van Hiep all demonstrated their abilities, "sharing the fire" with Nguyen Ngoc Thuan, thereby helping the Vietnamese team continuously lead the Philippines before winning 25/16.

The 3-1 victory over the Philippines helped the Vietnamese team successfully exact revenge on their "nemesis" who had defeated coach Tran Dinh Tien's students many times, most recently in the 0-3 loss in the first round of the SEA V.League this year. The important victory over the Philippines helped the Vietnamese team gain 8 points, certainly in the top 3 in the second round of the SEA V.League. In the final match tonight, Indonesia beat Thailand and won the championship. The Vietnamese team won the silver medal. Thailand won the bronze medal.
