Vietnam prepares nest to welcome technology "eagles"

The Vietnam Innovation Center is expected to be a place to gather and gradually perfect the national innovation ecosystem and an important link to support businesses in accessing resources.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the new operating facility of the National Innovation Center (NIC), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh pointed out that innovation is an inevitable trend, a strategic breakthrough choice of our country, and an objective requirement to realize the aspiration of building a strong and prosperous country. However, Vietnam is still facing many difficulties and challenges. Although science and technology development and innovation have made progress, they have not met the development requirements nor are they commensurate with the potential, especially the intellectual potential and creative capacity of the Vietnamese people. The Prime Minister assessed that the exhibition has introduced and spread the image of "Innovative Nation" to the public and the innovation community around the world; showing the potential, advantages and progress of Vietnam in innovation and the access and application of achievements of the 4th Industrial Revolution in the country's socio -economic development. "This is a typical, regular international event on innovation in Vietnam, to promote deep and effective connections between ecosystem subjects, while expanding links and cooperation with international partners in the region and the world," the Prime Minister pointed out. The head of the Government believes that NIC Hoa Lac will create a new innovation space for the country; clearly demonstrating the spirit of daring to think, daring to do, daring to innovate for development, becoming a model of innovation for the country; at the same time contributing to creating a symbol for Vietnam as a destination for innovation, with a design model in the image of an eagle taking off and flying. "Independent and autonomous, but having to integrate deeply, substantially, effectively, master and rise in science and technology, innovation, Vietnam can join the world's development and growth train, best absorbing the progress of humanity," the Prime Minister emphasized.

Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung said that in the context of the 4th industrial revolution taking place strongly, deeply affecting all aspects of the economy and society, Vietnam is one of the countries with great potential and opportunities to participate in this revolution. The Minister shared that the NIC Center possesses its own unique features, and is expected to become the nucleus to promote the development of the innovation ecosystem, helping Vietnam seize the once-in-a-millennium opportunity of the 4th Industrial Revolution to break through and rise up. The head of the Ministry of Planning and Investment expects that NIC will not only connect the domestic innovation ecosystem, but also connect with the network of innovation centers in the region and the world, contributing to enhancing Vietnam's position in fulfilling the mission of becoming the center of innovation in the region and the world. The Minister affirmed that this event is a way for Vietnam to enhance its position and role in the regional and global innovation map, bringing many opportunities and values to participants, contributing to promoting the rapid and sustainable development of Vietnam's innovation ecosystem.
