According to information posted on the official fanpage of the Mendeleev International Chemistry Olympiad (IMChO), the two gold medals of the Vietnamese team belonged to Nguyen Ngo Duc - grade 12, Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted (Nghe An) and Tran Trung Kien - grade 12, Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted.
The two members who won silver medals were Dinh Trong An - grade 12, High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences and Tran Hoang Nam - grade 11, Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted.
Notably, this is Nguyen Ngo Duc's second IMChO medal. The "Phan School" student participated in this exam in 2024, when he was in grade 11, and won a silver medal.

Leading the IMChO team this year is Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hung Huy.
The Mendeleev International Chemistry Olympiad, dubbed " the world's most difficult chemistry Olympiad", was established in 1967. This year, the competition took place in Brazil with the participation of 40 countries and territories.
Leading the way in terms of achievements were contestants from China and Russia. Of these, the three VI Lunin special prizes for the contestants with the best solutions went to Yaoxi Zhao, Xuantong Wan from China and Vladimir Elistratov from Russia.
Yaoxi Zhao also won the best theorist award. The best practitioner award went to Mengdigali Kaldybay from Kazakhstan.
The Vietnamese team at IMChO 2025 was assigned by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) to the host unit, the University of Science, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, to select and establish a delegation.
In 2024, Vietnam participated in IMChO for the first time with 10 members, achieving 1 gold, 5 silver, and 4 bronze medals.
