At the event, Ms. Park Eun Jung - Chief Representative of the Korea Tourism Organization Office in Vietnam, stated that Korea and Vietnam are important tourism markets for each other. In 2024, the number of Korean tourists to Vietnam will reach 4.5 million. In contrast, the number of Vietnamese visitors to Korea has also increased continuously since the Covid-19 pandemic, reaching 510,000 people and becoming the 6th largest tourist market of Korea.
To continue this growth momentum, the Korea Tourism Organization has developed tourism products using Korean cultural elements such as K-Pop, K-Drama, Korean cuisine; expanded support for charter flight products; developed and expanded support for high-end products and specialized tourism such as e- sports , meeting the diverse needs of Vietnamese tourists.
Notably, the incentive tourism market also plays an important role. In 2024, the number of Vietnamese visitors to Korea in the form of incentive tourism reached 54,000, an increase of 322% compared to 2023, becoming the largest incentive tourism market in Korea. In 2025, to strengthen promotional activities, the Korea Tourism Organization will continue to research the Vietnamese conference and incentive tourism market. Ms. Park Eun Jung also hopes that through today's event, many cooperation opportunities will be opened up between tourism agencies as well as between businesses of the two countries.

Mr. Chang Hoseung - Counselor and Consul General of the Korean Embassy in Vietnam said that in order to provide more conveniences and attract more tourists to Korea, the Korean Government has exempted visa fees for Vietnamese tourists since 2024. In the coming time, the Korean side will continue to actively support and create favorable conditions for Vietnamese citizens to enhance sustainable exchanges between the two countries.
He emphasized that in more than 30 years of establishing diplomatic relations between Korea and Vietnam, the two countries have strengthened cooperation in many fields such as politics, economy, and tourism exchanges are also constantly developing. In 2024, Korea will become Vietnam's largest international tourist market. Mr. Chang Hoseung also expects that the number of Vietnamese tourists to Korea will also increase in the future.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration Ha Van Sieu congratulated and highly appreciated the Korean Tourism Administration Office in Vietnam for organizing the Korean Tourism Seminar today, creating conditions for businesses from both sides to enhance exchanges, connections, cooperation, and promote two-way customer exchange.
Deputy Director Ha Van Sieu said that tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Korea has continued to be promoted and achieved many positive results, contributing effectively to the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. The Vietnam National Tourism Administration and the Korea Tourism Administration have also signed many memorandums of understanding on tourism cooperation.

This cooperation has brought many positive results shown through impressive numbers. In the first 4 months of 2025, Vietnam welcomed nearly 1.6 million Korean visitors, in the opposite direction, the number of Vietnamese visitors to Korea under the group visa policy and MICE tourism is also on the rise.
Today's Korea Tourism Conference 2025 is an opportunity for businesses of the two countries to connect, expand cooperation and promote the image and tourism potential of Korea to Vietnamese tourists. Deputy Director Ha Van Sieu believes that in the coming time, with the support of the Korea Tourism Organization, the Korean Embassy in Vietnam and businesses and localities of the two countries, the Vietnam - Korea tourism cooperation relationship will continue to develop strongly and effectively, further deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, contributing positively to the common success of the two countries.
