At the General Meeting of Shareholders held on June 25, 2024, Vietnam Airlines Corporation (Vietnam Airlines - Code: HVN) reported its 2024 business results with many impressive results: Consolidated revenue reached VND 112,776 billion, consolidated profit after tax reached VND 7,958 billion, marking the highest level in the history of operations of Vietnam Airlines.
Mr. Le Hong Ha, General Director of Vietnam Airlines, said that 2024 is a pivotal year in the recovery and growth process of Vietnam Airlines. The airline has conducted 139,700 safe flights, transported 22.75 million passengers, achieved an on-time performance index of 85% and a fleet availability coefficient of 95%.
Continuing to be the only airline operating all domestic destinations, Vietnam Airlines' flight network has been fully restored and grown compared to the pre-pandemic period, with 58 international routes and 38 domestic routes, connecting to 52 destinations in 18 countries.
Notably, important contributions to the consolidated revenue and profit results in 2024 are the participation of member units in the Vietnam Airlines ecosystem such as Aircraft Engineering Company Limited (VAECO), Vietnam Aviation Fuel Company Limited (SKYPEC), Vietnam Airlines Company Limited (VIAGS), Noi Bai Cargo Services Joint Stock Company (NCTS), Tan Son Nhat Cargo Services Joint Stock Company (TCS)...
In addition, Vietnam Airlines has also made many strides in enhancing the reputation of the national airline brand in the international arena by continuing to maintain the 4-star airline standard according to Skytrax; being honored with the "Million Miles of Wonder Experiences" marketing campaign presented by MMA Global; winning prestigious awards such as "5-star world airline" by APEX, "Airline providing the best premium economy cabin service 2024" and "Top 25 leading airlines in the world" by Airlines Rating, "Vietnam National Brand 2024".
To improve service quality and optimize aircraft maintenance and repair, Vietnam Airlines has successfully transformed its passenger service systems (PSS); and fleet engineering and spare parts management (MRO IT).
The General Meeting of Shareholders approved Vietnam Airlines' 2025 production and business plan with the goal of transporting 25.4 million passengers and 346 thousand tons of cargo, up 11.6% and 11.5% respectively compared to 2024.
Consolidated revenue is expected to reach VND 116,715 billion, up 3.5% over the same period; aiming to become the top 2 airline in Southeast Asia in terms of scale, entering the top 10 most popular airlines in Asia, maintaining 4-star service standards and aiming to reach international 5-star standards.
To realize this goal, the airline focuses on implementing a comprehensive restructuring project including restructuring assets, capital, investment portfolio and innovating the governance model; continuing to prioritize the digital transformation mission; promoting cooperation with technology partners such as VNPT and FPT to provide wifi services; modernizing the system, increasing automation and improving customer experience throughout the journey.
Towards sustainable development, Vietnam Airlines is building an ESG roadmap with specific targets on reducing carbon emissions, using fuel economically and aiming to research and apply sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). At the same time, the airline focuses on developing high-quality human resources, building a modern corporate culture and enhancing management capacity according to international standards.
