From January 14, 2025, Vietnam Airlines will launch Premium Economy class on its entire domestic flight network.
Positioning its service quality between business class and economy class, premium economy class possesses many advantages, providing a convenient and comfortable experience when passengers have priority check-in counters and boarding gates, helping to save time at the airport.
In addition, passengers enjoy the same baggage standards as Business Class, with 12kg carry-on baggage and one piece of checked baggage up to 32kg with priority tags.
For flights operated by ATR-72 aircraft, passengers still carry 7kg of hand luggage and check in one 23kg piece of luggage due to the technical characteristics of the aircraft. In addition, passengers are also given a promotional card to the business lounge or a voucher for airports without a lounge.
Passengers who purchase premium economy tickets are exempted from ticket and flight changes at the airport (go-show). Passengers are also exempted from pre-flight seat selection according to their preferences. This creates great flexibility for passengers during their trips.
On board, premium economy passengers will be seated in a specially designed area, right behind the business class cabin. In-flight meals are designed to be diverse and different from regular seats on some routes. During the flight, passengers can enjoy entertainment via personal screens on Airbus A350, Boeing 787 aircraft or wireless streaming systems on Airbus A320/A321 aircraft or the Press Reader newspaper reading application.
The addition of premium economy class options across the domestic flight network aims to diversify the product to meet passenger needs. Through this product, passengers have an additional choice of seat class suitable for many priority services and suitable for their spending ability.
Premium economy class on domestic flights has been widely applied by many major airlines in the world such as Delta Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Vistara, LATAM,... This shows the trend of the global aviation industry in improving service quality and creating more flexible options for passengers.
