The Vietnam Research Conference (VietResCon) was jointly organized by a number of specialized high schools in the country and international students in the US and recently took place in Hanoi .

Not only an intellectual playground, the conference is also a place to nurture critical thinking, self-study spirit, and especially confidence in doing science - an important factor to help Vietnamese students be ready to step out into the world.
The biggest difference of VietResCon is the empowerment of students. From the design of the workshop model, the scientific review process to the presentation of the paper - all are planned and implemented by the students according to international standards.
The conference operates based on the peer-review model - a multi-round academic evaluation - commonly found at top US universities. This helps students get acquainted with the serious research process right from high school.

VietResCon aims to guide high school students to be confident in their creativity, promote freedom of thinking, honesty and responsibility for knowledge. The organizers set the rule of "zero plagiarism" - no plagiarism, no copying, no using AI without citing the source.
The workshop encourages students to choose topics that are close, practical and age-appropriate, thereby developing independent thinking and the ability to ask the right questions – core competencies in an international academic environment.
The professional support of professors from many American universities such as Florida Atlantic University, Illinois State University, University of Mount Union, etc. contributed to ensuring the high academic quality of the conference. In particular, Professor Do Dinh Thuan, editor of 5 ISI scientific journals, directly advised VietResCon on how to organize the conference according to international standards.

Professor Do Dinh Thuan shared his It is impressive to see high school students being able to organize a conference with full peer review, editing, and citation. These experiences will help them become more confident when entering the international academic environment.
Commenting on the students’ presentations, Professor Do Dinh Thuan said that in general, the papers presented at the conference by the students were of high quality. The number of fields that the students researched was very diverse, from stem, AI, tinyml (Tiny Machine Learning) to social sciences and psychology.
The organizers highly appreciated the students' research and presentation skills, as well as their confidence in presenting and responding to questions. VietResCon's goal in organizing the conference was to build a real scientific research playground for high school students according to international scientific conference standards with the participation of students and professors from many different countries, and after this event, the organizers felt that this goal had been achieved.
