Speaking at the award ceremony, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said that inheriting and promoting the glorious 77-year tradition of the Vietnamese National Assembly; under the leadership of the Party, the 15th National Assembly has continued to make efforts to innovate and improve the quality of its activities towards increasing democracy, professionalism and the rule of law.
The National Assembly has achieved many important and comprehensive results in terms of legislation, supreme supervision, and decision-making on important national issues. In localities, the activities of People's Councils at all levels have also been increasingly innovated comprehensively, strongly, responsibly, practically, effectively and efficiently.

According to the National Assembly Chairman, one of the great sources of encouragement that has contributed to enhancing the position, strength and prestige of the National Assembly and People's Councils over the years is the comprehensive, persistent and creative contribution of the country's press.
In its role as an important bridge, closely connecting elected bodies with the people and voters nationwide, the country's press has increasingly demonstrated its worthiness as a collective propagandist, collective cheerleader, collective organizer, and at the same time a channel of intellectual and responsible criticism towards the country.
The national press and media system has proactively propagated and promoted comprehensively and promptly, contributing to the implementation of the Party's policies and guidelines institutionalized by the National Assembly and People's Councils through decisions and action movements nationwide.
At the same time, the press has truthfully and vividly reflected the legitimate thoughts and aspirations of all sectors, all classes, voters, people nationwide and our compatriots abroad to the National Assembly and People's Council forums.
Comrade Nguyen Thanh Lam, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee of the award and Comrade Nguyen Duc Loi - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the award presented the two awards for outstanding works of foreign information.
The press is an important and reliable channel for voters to supervise elected agencies and elected representatives. Press agencies, generations of reporters and editors accompany and devote themselves to the activities of the National Assembly and People's Councils not only with responsibility but also with affection, enthusiasm, and passion for creativity; through this, they continuously progress and mature comprehensively.
To recognize and honor the important contributions of the country's press, the tireless efforts of professional and non-professional writers to the National Assembly and People's Councils, the Standing Committee of the 15th National Assembly decided to organize the annual National Press Award for the National Assembly and People's Councils called the Dien Hong Award.
The National Assembly Chairman pointed out that it was extremely gratifying that immediately after its announcement, the Dien Hong Award attracted widespread attention from all walks of life; and the positive response of domestic and international press agencies, associations, and branches of journalist associations, journalists, and even non-professional collaborators.
Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan and comrade Tran Thanh Lam, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee awarded certificates of merit to outstanding collectives.
"In the first season, I was very touched and sincerely thanked the large participation of 171 domestic and foreign press agencies, 7 Offices of the National Assembly Delegation and People's Councils, with 3,328 works," said the National Assembly Chairman.
The National Assembly Chairman commented: The entries were carefully invested, rich in topics, sharp in content, large in scale, diverse in style and modern in journalism. Among them, many journalistic works with exploration, breakthrough, novelty, creativity and appeal were well received and highly appreciated by readers.
Crystallization of passion, responsibility, love for the profession
The works that were entered and awarded today are the crystallization of the enthusiasm, sense of responsibility, love for the profession, faith, and sincere feelings of the writers and photographers towards the representative agencies of the people. The appeal and far-reaching impact of the works increasingly affirm the great support of the entire political system and all the people for the revolutionary press of Vietnam.
From the glorious tradition, with the support and assistance of Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front, organizations at all levels and the people, the Chairman of the National Assembly firmly believes that the country's revolutionary press will develop continuously. From there, it will continue to make increasingly important and greater contributions to building a comprehensively developed National Assembly and People's Council, worthy of the trust and entrustment of the people.

It is known that the first Dien Hong Award was launched on December 27, 2022. After more than 4 months of launching, the first Dien Hong Award received 3,328 press works from 171 domestic and international press agencies.
Comrade Tran Thanh Man, Politburo member, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Head of the Steering Committee of the Dien Hong Press Award and Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department presented the B Prize to the winning author groups.
Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien and Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha presented the C Prize to the winning author groups.
This demonstrates the appeal and influence of the activities of the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels on the press, not only domestically but also internationally; and at the same time, it shows the appeal of a national press award organized for the first time on elected agencies and elected representatives.
After a period of careful, impartial and objective judging, the preliminary and final judging panels, consisting of prestigious and experienced journalists, decided to select and award prizes to 67 works in all journalism genres.

Comrade Bui Van Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee and Comrade Nguyen Manh Hung, member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Information and Communications presented consolation prizes to the authors.
In order to honor authors with excellent press works on the National Assembly and People's Councils, the Office of the National Assembly coordinated with the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Vietnam Journalists Association, Vietnam Television, and Vietnam National Assembly Television to organize the First National Press Awards Ceremony on the National Assembly and People's Councils (Dien Hong Awards).
At the ceremony, the organizing committee awarded 5 A prizes; 12 B prizes; 16 C prizes and 30 consolation prizes. The Journalist & Public Opinion Newspaper was honored to receive the Consolation Prize of the first Dien Hong Prize with the work "Timely grasping the thoughts, feelings, listening to the legitimate aspirations of the people" by author Quang Hung.
