Speaking at the ceremony, Director of the Department of Physical Training and Sports Dang Ha Viet emphasized that the 7th Victory Cup Award Gala 2023 organized by the Department of Physical Training and Sports, Vietnam Cab Television Corporation, and Vietcontent Group is a very valuable award to honor outstanding athletes and coaches of Vietnamese sports in 2023, and is also a real festival for those working in sports after a year of striving their best for the flag and colors of the Fatherland.
After 6 times of organization, the Victory Cup has affirmed its position as the top award, a special companion event of TTVN, with the influence and positive effects on the sports community and fans nationwide. Not only successfully completing the mission of honoring the most deserving individuals and groups of the year, the Victory Cup has truly become a target and motivation for coaches and athletes. From the Victory Cup launch pad, many faces have grown up remarkably, shining in the top arenas.
The 2023 Victory Cup, with careful investment and preparation, along with strong innovation in content and methods by the Organizing Committee, has continued to make breakthroughs in many aspects. With 11 categories, through two rounds of voting, especially a Voting Council gathering prestigious managers, experts, and journalists, the Victory Cup will ensure the most comprehensive recognition and condensation of outstanding achievements, faces, activities, and events in 2023.

Athlete Pham Quang Huy was honored in the category "Male Athlete of the Year"
“In 2024, the sports sector will carry out many important tasks, focusing on the Paris Olympics and Paralympics. In particular, we have been determined to make great efforts to have 12-15 places to compete, and strive for medals at the Olympics. I hope that athletes and coaches will continue to train hard and strive with the highest spirit to contribute to the development of Vietnamese sports in 2024,” emphasized Director Dang Ha Viet.
At the Gala, the organizers presented awards to 11 categories, most notably the “Male Athlete of the Year” and “Female Athlete of the Year” categories, which were awarded to the 19th Asian Games champion and 2024 Asian Shooting Champion Pham Quang Huy and female Volleyball player Tran Thi Thanh Thuy. In addition to this title, the beautiful Volleyball player also won the title of “Most Beloved Athlete” voted by fans and was included in the team awarded the “Team of the Year” award.
Not only did Thanh Thuy join the Vietnamese Volleyball team to achieve many glorious achievements such as the Asian Club Gold Medal, Asian Challenger Gold Medal; 4th place in the 19th Asian Games and the Asian Championship; SEA Games Silver Medal, VTV Cup Gold Medal, Thanh Thuy is also an athlete currently competing in Japan for the PFU Bluecats Club. Thanh Thuy's teacher, Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet, was also awarded the title "Coach of the Year". This is the most prestigious title to honor the contributions of domestic coaches in the past year. Thus, this year's national volleyball team won big with 4 titles: "Female Athlete of the Year", "Most Beloved Athlete", "Team of the Year" and "Coach of the Year".

Coach Park Chunggun was honored in the category "Foreign Coach of the Year"
With his great contributions to the national shooting team, Coach Park Chunggun (Korea) was awarded the title of "Foreign Coach of the Year". 2023 continued to mark the success of this foreign coach who always considers Vietnam as his second home when he and his students won all medals at the 19th Asian Games, the most notable of which was the gold medal of shooter Pham Quang Huy.
With the Sepak Takraw team achieving many brilliant achievements in 2023, typically 1 gold medal, 1 silver medal at the 19th Asian Games, athlete Tran Thi Ngoc Yen was awarded the title of "Young Athlete of the Year". The national women's Sepak Takraw team was also awarded the title of "Teammate of the Year". The title of "Outstanding Athlete with Disabilities of the Year" was awarded to athlete Le Van Cong. The title of "Impressive Image of the Year" was awarded for the emotional moment when the national anthem of Vietnam was played for the first time at the Women's World Cup.

Women's Sepak Takraw team awarded "Team of the Year" title
With 11 categories, the award has met the goal of recognizing and honoring in the most comprehensive and complete way the outstanding individuals, groups, and outstanding activities in a special year when Vietnam competed in two major international sporting events, the 32nd SEA Games and the 19th Asian Games. The total value of the award is up to 750 million VND.
