Right from the beginning of the 2015 - 2020 and 2020 - 2025 terms, the Party Committee and the Military Command of Vinh Long province issued thematic Resolution and Plan No. 315-KH/DU dated June 20, 2021 to specify Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW dated May 18, 2021 of the Politburo , directing agencies and units in the provincial military to make studying and following Uncle Ho a key content in Party building work.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Giong, Political Commissar of the Tam Binh District Military Command, shared: “We consider learning and following Uncle Ho’s teachings not only a responsibility but also a motivation to cultivate and practice every day. Correct awareness will lead to good actions, thereby spreading positive values ​​throughout the unit.”

Through the implementation of Directive 05, the quality of all aspects of work of the Vinh Long Provincial Military has had many positive changes. Cadres and soldiers have increasingly improved their political qualities, sense of responsibility, internal solidarity, and maintained the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the new era. Many effective models have been built and maintained such as: "Uncle Ho's teachings on this day in history", "Study and follow Uncle Ho's corner", "Studying Uncle Ho" column on the internal broadcasting system.

Competitions to learn about Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, and thematic seminars are also held regularly, creating a rich and attractive political environment. Every year, 100% of cadres, party members and soldiers of Vinh Long province's armed forces write a commitment to study and follow Uncle Ho in conjunction with their assigned duties and tasks.

Major Le Dinh Thong, Warehouse Manager of the Weapons and Ammunition Warehouse Company, Logistics and Technical Department (Vinh Long Provincial Military Command) shared: “Each bullet, each gun is the sweat and tears of our compatriots. Therefore, in my assigned position, responsibility and task, I regularly check the condition, clean, lubricate, and fix minor damages so that the weapons are always in the best condition. Along with that, I organize repairs, upgrades, and synchronize technical equipment and weapons, absolutely not allowing damage or loss, ensuring the best service for the tasks of the provincial military.”

The models of “One good deed a day following Uncle Ho’s example”, “Preventing early and far signs of degradation”, or “3 good Youth Unions” have been creating a strong spreading effect. The inspection and supervision of the implementation of Directive 05 is carried out regularly, promptly detecting and correcting deviations, while at the same time praising and replicating exemplary collectives and individuals.

Not just stopping at words or short-term movements, the Vinh Long Provincial Military has concretized learning from Uncle Ho with practical actions towards the community. Over the past 10 years, the units have organized more than 300 social activities, coordinated the construction of dozens of civil works, provided medical examination and treatment, and provided free medicine to thousands of policy families, and given hundreds of gifts to poor households and policy families.

Colonel Tran Minh Tan, Political Commissar of the Vinh Long Provincial Military Command, said: “Every social activity is a living testament to the spirit of soldiers for the people. When we examine the poor, care for Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, or contribute to building new rural areas, we always carry in our hearts Uncle Ho's words: Whatever is beneficial to the people, we must do our best.”

From the implementation of Directive 05, the Vinh Long Provincial Military Command has drawn many profound lessons, namely: Party committees and leaders must be truly exemplary, be the core of setting examples and inspiring; learning from Uncle Ho must be closely linked to specific tasks and responsibilities, not formal; propaganda work must be creative, attractive, and suitable for each target; at the same time, inspection, preliminary review, summary, and replication of effective models and good practices must be strengthened.

Colonel Tran Minh Trang, Commander of the Vinh Long Provincial Military Command, affirmed: “We identify that studying and following Uncle Ho is a continuous, long-term process. With the synchronous, drastic and creative participation from Party committees and commanders at all levels to each cadre and soldier, we believe that studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style will continue to spread widely and sustainably; it will be the driving force for the provincial military to successfully complete all tasks, worthy of the trust and love of the local Party Committee, government and people.”
