Specifically, the cooperation will focus on five areas including organizing AESF tournaments and events, e-sports education and training activities, supporting the e-sports industry, strengthening media partnerships, and developing digital and virtual sports according to Olympic standards.
According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Cuong, Chairman of VIRESA, this memorandum of understanding will be the basis for both sides to support each other in completing their goals, speeding up the progress of ongoing cooperation between VIRESA and AESF as well as the premise to promote new cooperation.
"We aim to build a united and cooperative community to form an ideal e -sports ecosystem, guide parties to protect their rights and interests, and join hands to solve contemporary issues in the e -sports industry that need attention," he emphasized.

VIRESA President assessed that this is one of the strategic steps for the Association to complete its set goal, which is to make Vietnam an ideal destination to organize major e-sports events as well as promote professional, systematic and sustainable investment in the e-sports industry in Vietnam.
Supporting Mr. Cuong's opinion, Mr. Sebastian Lau, General Director of AESF expressed his joy at the successful promotion of the agreement between the two sides, thereby sharing the goal of developing the field of e-sports.
"The industry is only as strong as it develops at the grassroots level and from what AESF has witnessed so far, Vietnamese esports has successfully built its momentum and position in society through the 31st SEA Games. With the enthusiastic support from the General Department of Sports, NOC and VIRESA, AESF is confident in its goal of promoting the further development of a thriving Esports ecosystem here."
Also at the ceremony, the two sides initially discussed plans to organize the ASEAN Student E-Sports Open (ASEAN + University Championship) in Vietnam next year. AESF and VIRESA also reached a high consensus in coordinating the formation and promotion of e-sports activities for all groups, including people with disabilities and women.
