VN-Index fell, but green stocks dominated.

Although the VN-Index closed lower, positive sentiment prevailed. The number of rising stocks was nearly double the number of falling stocks.

VN-Index fell, but green stocks dominated.

The stock market closed slightly lower on May 26th, weighed down by Vingroup's group of stocks. The declines in VIC, VHM, and VRE's shares subtracted nearly 14 points from the VN-Index, while the overall index only fell by nearly 2 points.

In terms of structure, the financial sector stocks (banks, securities) maintained positive momentum:ACB increased by 5.1%, VIB by 2.2%, VPB by 2.22%, BID by 1.28%, MSB by 1.38%, TPB by 1.6%, VCB by 1.1%, CTG by 1.29%; MBS by 3.6%, SHS by 3.95%, VND by 2.56%, VCK by 1.05%, VCI by 1.62%...

Apart from the three Vingroup stocks that declined (VHM down 3.09%, VIC down 2.65%, VRE down nearly 1%), most real estate stocks rose: PDR hit the ceiling price, DXG increased 2.36%, DIG increased 1.47%, KDH increased 1.75%, TCH increased 2.24%, CEO increased 1.82%, BCM increased 2.44%, NLG increased 1.72%...

In addition, oil and gas, information technology, and raw materials stocks also leaned towards the green. Many stocks saw significant gains: BSR increased by 1.06%, PVS by 1.32%,FPT by 1.36%, MSR by 3.28%, GVR by 2.48%, and PHR by 2.71%...

At the close of trading, the VN-Index fell 1.85 points (0.10%) to 1,884.18 points, but saw 199 stocks rise, 116 fall, and 49 remain unchanged. Conversely, at the close of trading on the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index continued to rise 6.35 points (2.34%) to 278.15 points with 71 stocks rising, 61 falling, and 56 remaining unchanged.

Liquidity improved but remained low, with total trading value on the HOSE reaching nearly 19,500 billion VND, an increase of nearly 500 billion VND compared to the previous session. Including the HNX, liquidity reached nearly 20,900 billion VND, an increase of 900 billion VND compared to the previous session.

Foreign investors continued their net selling streak for the fourth consecutive session on the HOSE exchange, with a total value of nearly 710 billion VND. MSB continued to be the most heavily sold stock, with over 488 billion VND, followed by HPG with over 150 billion VND and VIC with nearly 130 billion VND.
