In Hanoi , Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) recently held a conference to deploy its 2024 plan. Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung and Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises Nguyen Hoang Anh attended the conference.
Speaking at the conference, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts and results of VNPT Group in 2023; at the same time, he said that economic and social development requires new infrastructure, digital infrastructure. However, network operators have not invested in building digital infrastructure. Meanwhile, the old space has run out of space, traditional service revenue is increasingly declining... Therefore, VNPT needs to take responsibility for building infrastructure to develop Vietnam.
“VNPT needs to enter industries and fields to create digital applications, help with digital transformation, and develop the digital economy for industries and fields. This is also the process of industrialization and modernization of the country. From now on, VNPT has a new mission of industrialization and modernization of the country through creating digital applications and digital transformation for other industries, fields, and businesses,” Minister Nguyen Manh Hung emphasized.
With the spirit of overcoming all challenges, drastic innovation and creativity, together with unity and synergy, all officers and employees of VNPT Group have overcome a difficult year of 2023 to create qualitative changes and complete assigned political tasks with many remarkable marks.
Specifically, in 2023, VNPT Group's total revenue reached VND 54,856 billion, reaching 98.2% of the plan; the group's total profit reached VND 4,468 billion, reaching 100.8% of the plan. Of which, the parent company's profit was VND 2,824 billion, reaching 101.4% of the plan. In 2023, VNPT paid VND 3,849 billion to the state budget, reaching 112.7% of the plan. The group's pre-tax profit margin on equity reached 6%.
VNPT always ensures 100% of jobs and stable income at a fairly good level for employees in the general level of State corporations and groups. The financial situation of VNPT Group is always healthy, cash flow is managed and used effectively to promptly meet the production and business needs, basic construction investment of the group and its units, not to let overdue debts arise, the group's capital is preserved and developed.
Mr. Huynh Quang Liem, General Director of VNPT Group, shared that in the context of a difficult market, core services such as mobile, broadband, and MyTV are the services facing the most challenges; however, VNPT still maintains its market share. In particular, broadband services and television services occupy the No. 1 position in market share. In the field of providing digital services for enterprises and digital government, VNPT continues to receive the trust of ministries, branches, localities and enterprises. Many of VNPT's digital products launched in 2022 have created a spread in 2023.
In 2023, VNPT will continue to receive the trust of ministries, branches and localities when choosing VNPT as a partner in implementing digital transformation. Typically, the strategic cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Public Security marked VNPT's official participation in digital transformation projects in the field of national population management. Next, VNPT was also selected by the Supreme People's Procuracy as a partner in implementing digital transformation of the people's procuracy sector after successfully deploying the National Database on civil servants and public employees; in March 2023, VNPT promoted the deployment of VNPT CCVC 3.0 software in ministries, branches and localities. After 9 months, the VNPT CCVC 3.0 product has been deployed to 42 provinces/cities, 21 ministries and branches, managing 1.6 million civil servants and public employees nationwide, accounting for a market share of 66%....
In 2023, VNPT's IT infrastructure will have a breakthrough and expansion direction. VNPT has opened its 8th Data Center (IDC) at Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park (Hanoi). This is also the largest IDC in Vietnam today. The opening of IDC Hoa Lac is a testament to VNPT's aspiration to accompany the Government in building a modern, internationally-standard digital infrastructure so that Vietnamese data can be stored and processed in Vietnam according to the direction of the Government and the Ministry of Information and Communications. Along with IDC Hoa Lac, VNPT currently owns 8 data centers in major provinces and cities, including Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City.
By mastering 4.0 technology platforms such as AI, BigData, IoT, cloud computing, etc., VNPT has "smartened" the products provided to customers. Thanks to that, 15 core products and services of VNPT have been standardized/upgraded and launched to the market. VNPT has focused on developing platforms, platform ecosystems, digital transformation products for businesses, converting traditional telecommunications services into core platforms to develop a personal digital service ecosystem for households through the integration of digital services, content services, digital finance, television, digital utilities, etc.
VNPT Group General Director Huynh Quang Liem shared that in 2024, VNPT Group will optimize resources, change more comprehensively, be more creative, research and apply more new technologies to create new digital products to help VNPT increase its competitiveness, affirming VNPT's solid steps in the coming time.
