According to Tuoi Tre Online 's investigation, on July 24, Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company - Organizing Committee of National Professional Football Tournaments (VPF) has completed the report on Quang Nam Club and sent it to VFF to wait for a solution.
Previously, Quang Nam Club did not respond to VPF about whether to register to participate in V-League 2025 - 2026 or not. After sending 3 official dispatches without receiving any response (deadline on July 23), VPF considered Quang Nam to have withdrawn from the tournament and decided to send a report to VFF.
VFF has received the information and the General Secretariat will hold a meeting to discuss how to handle the matter. Because this is a complicated case, VFF cannot quickly come up with a solution.
Quang Nam Club's withdrawal from the tournament right before the start of the 2025-2026 V-League (August 15) has confused football management agencies and caused many consequences for organization and operation.
If nothing changes, V-League 2025 - 2026 will only have 13 clubs. VFF and VPF will have to calculate 2 options, either keep the same number of teams and re-draw lots, or promote another team from the First Division to play instead of Quang Nam's spot according to the plan that VPF has drawn lots to schedule.
But neither option is easy to implement.
The incident began on July 21, after Quang Nam Club announced the team's disbandment to the players, stopped training and created conditions for the players to leave. Because the old sponsor withdrew and there was no new sponsor, Quang Nam Club was on the brink of dissolution and "called for help" from the People's Committee of Da Nang City.
Quang Nam Club itself is currently struggling with two "survival" plans. They proposed that Da Nang City call on businesses to support the team's survival. If that fails, Quang Nam Club must transfer all remaining personnel to SHB Da Nang Club and merge with this team.
However, Quang Nam Club has not yet reported to VPF and VFF about its situation and decision. It is not known how the incident will end, this is a big challenge for Vietnamese football when the new 2025-2026 season is about to start.
