(Dan Tri) - On the afternoon of June 13, Vietnam Television (VTV) announced that it had acquired the broadcasting rights for Euro 2024. This is very good news for audiences nationwide.
"After a period of negotiation, on June 13, 2024, Vietnam Television and Viettel Military Industry and Telecommunications Group ( Viettel ) reached a cooperation agreement to broadcast live all matches of the 2024 European Football Championship (UEFA Euro 2024) on VTV channels. Specifically, Vietnam Television will broadcast all matches and programs related to UEFA Euro 2024 on VTV channels and be transmitted on infrastructures with rebroadcast agreements including terrestrial, cable, satellite, OTT (VTVgo application)... in Vietnam territory", VTV announced. VTV will broadcast live 51 matches at Euro 2024 (Photo: UEFA). According to VTV, all 51 matches at UEFA Euro 2024 will be broadcast live by VTV along with commentary programs before, during and after the match. Along with that, the Opening Ceremony, Closing Ceremony and exciting accompanying programs will also be organized by VTV such as "Euro 2024 Diary", "Euro 2024 Colors"... Regarding the broadcasting channel, the matches taking place at 20:00 are expected to be broadcast live on VTV5 and VTV Can Tho channels. The matches taking place at 23:00 will be broadcast live on VTV2 and VTV5 channels (with 2 matches at the same time on June 25 and June 26). The matches taking place at 02:00 will be broadcast live on VTV3 and VTV2 channels (with matches at the same time). Previously, at the end of 2023, Viettel Telecom Corporation (Viettel Telecom) with the TV360 media platform announced that this unit owns the copyright of the Euro 2024 finals, exclusively exploiting all broadcasting and media rights of the tournament on all television infrastructures and social networks within the territory of Vietnam. According to the investigation, TV360 and VTV had a number of meetings with each other on sharing the broadcasting copyright of Euro 2024, but could not find a common voice until reaching an agreement on June 13. In addition to VTV, some television stations K+, VTV Cab, HTV also announced that they will broadcast matches at Euro 2024. The Euro 2024 finals will take place from June 15 to July 15 in Germany. The opening match will take place between host Germany and Scotland at 02:00 on June 15 (Vietnam time).
